I think the Knicks may have the most attractive offer an be a place where Dame actually wants to play.  Dame having four years on the contract will make his asking price extremely high.  It will cost the Knicks.

Are Portland ready to blow it up.  If so, they will need to dump a lot of their veterans.   If I was Portland, I would like to give it one more try and re-visit next offseason if things do not work out.  Will Dame demand a trade though?

Knicks allows them to ship Dame out of the WC though.    Barrett, Toppin, (Quickley ??) plus a ton of draft picks.    We will see if Barrett is a top two player on a playoff team and if Toppin can play, but that could be a solid haul if Portland wants to blow it up.

added benefit of sending him to the KNicks is there is at least a decent chance Thibs wears Dame out in about 2 years.

That may be true.   It is also possible that this is a message to Houston that if you want Cunningham, you better blow us away with an offer.

Chris Haynes says:

1) He doesn't have any info suggesting Luka was behind RC moving on.

2) However, it was widely known around the league that during all three years of Luka's time in the NBA that he and RC did not get along well at all.
Chris Haynes...

...doesn't see POR and PHI making a trade.

...thinks Dame is going to give POR some time to prove they are going to give him a championship roster, but if they don't it may come to a trade demand.

The more we learn about the whole situation, the more you get the sense that Carlisle just resigned before he was getting inevitably fired. No way could they have continued the toxic relationship between Carlisle and the players, cause I don´t think it was just Luka.

LOL!

"I haven't made any firm decisions" is absolutely confirmation that something terrible is about to happen from a Portland fan's perspective. This is bananas.

Not to be Debbie Downer, but...the fact that this is shifting into the next gear NOW, while he's hanging out with the USA olympic team? That's probably not a super-great sign if you're hoping he lands in Dallas.

Formal trade demand or not, "I haven't made any firm decisions on my future" is a de-facto trade demand threat coming from a guy under contract for the next 4 years.
next week:  Damian Lillard has requested a trade.

Patience. Just wait until he's looking up at Luka accepting his gold medal on the podium.

Man...I get it...people have emotions and especially during highly competitive sports...

But I thought it was a HUGE red flag this past season when Mavs were at the bottom and we were doing everything we could to a win...we lost a game we were fighting hard to win...Luka walks by Carlisle in the Tunnel(doesnt look at him...walks by him like he doesnt want to talk to him) and mumbles something like "this f-ing sucks".

The tv cameras obviously didnt have audio of the moment....but you could tell Luka made it a point to not look at Carlisle but make sure Carlisle knew his feelings by saying "this sucks".

It was done is a way that is not normal...not something that happens between two people unless there is some tension.
I must be an "Insider" because I said he was leaving a month ago...these NBA writers need to quit reading my posts...
So...do we know if Carlisle's military style matured Luka's game at all in 3 years...

We know he was retarding Luka's imagination on the floor.   But did he actually do anything that helped Luka?
