Isaac is a dream acquisition for me right after Giannis...

I get how his RFA status makes it difficult, but between his injury and my guess (an assumption, I admit, but I believe a likely one) that he'd prefer just about any team over Orlando, moving forward, I just feel like there might be a way to get it done.

Maybe it involves trading for him, though his current injury makes that kind of unlikely, I suppose. Maybe it involves offering him a contract Orlando isn't willing to, specifically because of the injury. I don't know...I'm just saying, I think it's worth keeping an eye on him.

Probably better than a max deal for Gobert or Oladipo.
I agree with this. The "picks" part would help if 1 or 2 of the rookies shows out well (which then we'll have many on the board not wanting to move them). They can have their pick of 1 of the 2 promising rookies and 2027, throw in a 2022 pick swap which makes it "3" firsts.

I wouldn't be upset with a Gobert or Oladipo acquisition, but I believe there are better options out there.

One other thing. As far as Tobias Harris is concerned. TH vs AG the players heavily favors TH right now. Once you insert age and contract is where AG becomes the better option.

I'm of the opinion that we don't need another star level creator for this team though. We need guys that CAN create, and maybe 1 more high end creator in the Derrick Rose mold (not a star, but can create with the best of them, this could prove to be Burke though).

I think with Luka and Brunson, we have our guys that are the floor generals. Would love to see JB be able to move in the direction of being able to play off ball more so he can get more time on the court (just get that 3% in the 38% or higher range).

We also need more Shawn Marion, sneaky, lul you to sleep, then cut to the basket for the oop type players.

I like what we have to work with in who we picked up this offseason. Defenders who might have a few of these skills in them, or can easily be taught them. The season will show us how well they can do it, then we need to retool with upgrades.

Always small upgrades with players on reasonable contracts. That's how we can fit in the big time players when they say "YES".
Part of my interest in Gordon is that Dallas could conceivably add him while maintaining the ability to create max space. I don't think an expiring contract plus a few weak picks gets it done, but a package like Kleber + WCS + Green might be interesting to Orlando, assuming Green hits the ground running.

At that point Dallas would be a simple stretch waive of Powell away from a max slot. If they can get an agreement from the max FA of their choosing, they could turn it into a sign and trade with Gordon/Powell/picks outgoing and keep the rights to re-sign Boban. Also THJ and Richardson.

My biggest fear that has already been mentioned by other posters is that the Mavs give up Richardsons and THJs cap holds because they want to catch a bigger fish. Both sign with other teams and the Mavs end up scrambling for the leftovers after Giannis signs somewhere else.
I want Cuban and Donnie to commit. They could have done it last summer. They could have done it this summer. Now they are forced to do it next year. After Luka signs his max extension the Mavs won´t have the capspace (unless they want to give up quality role players).
I really do not like the non "Giannis" options next year and don´t want to rely on "something even better shaking loose" because that´s not a given.

When it comes to Gordons value the Magic rejected The "RoCo offer" this summer. They want more than 2 1sts. Don´t think any team is willing to do that.

So, I agree that losing those guys for nothing, as you describe your “biggest fear” would suuuuuuck. I’m not worried about that in the least, but that’s probably because my views on pretty much everything else you said are so drastically far from yours.

I view re-signing those guys as the absolute WORST thing that could happen, and it’s pretty damn good, tbh. I definitely, definitely don’t want them to “commit” to anything worse in the meantime.
These moves of getting getting Luka, then the following FA, then getting KP, then the following moves, then getting JRich feels like a driver that can't figure out how to press the pedal in a way to go the speed he wants to go. He floors it, then fully takes the foot off the pedal, then floors it and so on so he maintains a general desired speed. It's excitingly uncomfortable.
Half serious...
Does Harden need an intervention for strip club addiction?

Have you ever drove in heavy traffic?

To me they seem to have a pretty clear view of how they want their puzzle to look like.

Getting a Luka/KP pairing in about two tanking seasons is like bypassing a jam on the bus lane.

Now they are cycling trough the parts. Pull out into the fast lane.

One tbd part is a player in the Delon/JRich mold. One part is like Green/Green. This leaves one starter, which I believe to be a scorer type in any way.
Did I read somewhere yesterday that Harden doesn't have an agent???

I'm shocked by that, but it kind of explains a lot, imo. That means that all these wild rumors about his intentions are coming from friends and family, probably. Maybe from multiple people with multiple agendas.

Smart. Instead of giving 10% of his supermax to one male ho, he spreads it around amongst many female hos. Big Grin
Did that club Harden went to include a free buffet?

IIRC NBA bans player from not having agents.
A quick google, his mom is now his agent
So, officially you are wrong, but in reality you are right
Speaking of Harden's mom...

"He is doing the best for his career...He is asking for a chance to get a ring and that's it."

Hmm, I have no problem with that.
But he isn't FA, and he signed supermax money to try to win a ring in Houston.
If all what he does is "asking" then no problem, league doesn't prevent that. But if he tries to force his way out then fans should have a problem with it.

PS: This is unpopular opinion here, but I think Harden got a bit underrated, if it wasn't for GSW with KD he could have got his ring in 2018, and no other team came close to beating the KD GSW (for me, that was strongest team that was ever assembled)
That said, I hate what he represents as a player, his way of play is truly ugly and not entertainment
Sounds suspiciously defensive to me.

The "giving 110%" analogy is bad enough, how can you give 210%? IF the average is 100% then he's doing 0% for over half the time.
