man, that Golden State vs PHX game was so fun.  I so wish we ran an offense similar to those teams.  The fast pace too.   There are times when I think we are not as far off as we think, but we are not close to either team right now.  How they are connected as a team is really impressive.

When Draymond is on a good team, he is really a treasure to watch.   He routinely is a step ahead on both offense and defense.  Depressing that GS for crumbs got Porter jr (19 points), Bjelica (10 points) and Payton Jr (14 points) and Kuminga looks scary for a young player.
Paul George is gonna be out for a while according to WOJ...

This Clippers team is going to go down on the permanent, all-time "wasted potential" list, imo. They are snake-bitten. The only thing that has gone right for them since signing Leonard is getting matched up with the Mavericks in the first round twice in a row.
I am guessing leaving Patty Mills open was the strategy.  At least Westbrook made up with it with his offense....

Not super surprising given Terry played most of his games with the Memphis Hustle and played relatively well.

Maybe being out of the league so quickly woke him up? I'm curious to see how he plays.
Justin Anderson is on the Cavs now, and has a PER of 75.78 Big Grin Angel
The East has 9 teams .500 or better, the West has 5. Even though the West has 3 of the  best teams in the league. The big surprises are Chicago & Cleveland at 20-13. East has  quietly improved. No more for sure wins.
Grizzles Bane and Terry combined for 30 tonight in a win.

Lol

Bane with 28 and Terry with 2.

When I read your post I was like "oh great here we go again, Mavs cutting loose on a player that becomes good when they leave"

2 points. Is that a career-high? Undecided

They build on it tonight. 32 points in a win. Smile
Feels as if Lakers can just pick any player they want and trade for him. This is certainly a package Mavs can match. If only Grant would want to come to Dallas.

I mean this is an article written on a Lakers fan site, using a Windhorst  hypothetical as the primary source.

My main takeaway from this article wasn't "Oh the Lakers are serious players for Grant", but rather "wow the Lakers fans are so desperate they'd use their last first and non 30 year old players left for Grant". It wreaks of desperation and they're hitting the panic button.

I'm sure the Mavs could easily match that, and I like Grant. But can we discuss how idiotic it'd be for the Lakers to use their last resources in that way? Jerami Grant is a good player, but isn't a game changer. He'd be a great fit here because he plays a lot like DFS with more scoring. But I don't see how Grant saves the Lakers here. To use quite literally the last FRP they have to trade for a while for maybe the 4th best guy on a team is sad.

I like Grant. I'd even pay a first for him if I was the Mavs. But I think the Mavs should set their sights a little higher right now than Grant given the amount of all-stars that are disgruntled.

Just to keep track The biggest names in trade rumors so far have been:

Ben Simmons
Kyrie Irving
Myles Turner
Christian Wood
Jerami Grant
Domantas Sabonis
Buddy Hield
Harrison Barnes

Am I missing anybody? What’s our best case scenario from this list given our current assets, needs, and fit?

I'd add Bradley Beal, CJ McCollum, and even Dame to that list. Gordon Hayward as well if the price is right.

The Wizards have come crashing back down to earth and have actually looked better with Beal off the court this year.  He's about to be a free agent as well. Add in that DC just put in a vax mandate that will prevent Beal from playing, I think this might be the year that pushes Washington to finally moving him.

CJ is more than available too given how desperate Portland is. And because of how desperate Portland is I'm adding Dame on there as well.

A few others non all-star level guys that I'm interested in is the guards from SAS, Murray and White. Also curious to see what Boston is going to do with the Brown-Tatum duo. They just lost against the Wolves who didn't have their starting 5 (despite having Tatum/Brown and Smart). They also collapsed against the Bucks on Christmas day and have had a season some would describe as an utter disappointment. It's a tenuous situation in Boston to say the least.
