I don’t think either one is all that scary. Ditto for PHX without Paul, or LAC without KL/PG.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting the Mavericks are about to go on some historic run, but the west is crumbling at just the right time. Stranger things have happened.
All the key guys out totally tests team chemistry. Often you get the wounded Tiger dynamic for a couple of games followed by a fall off. We are trying to avoid all that tonight by quickly healing Luka’s ankle. The chemistry and execution is already gone for GS and LAC having watched them. Denver’s chemistry is actually still good but their execution is just ok. Our chemistry was great when this happened earlier. Hopefully our execution tonight is also still good. Hopefully we will only have one game to watch without Luka.  Luka can only be covered for not replaced.
Wonder what brought all that on? I thought the Heat was a well oiled machine with no issues. UD going off on Butler is strange, but the Heat got embarrassed at home by GS with no Curry, Thompson or Green.
Just had to be Miami.

"Who put this thing together, huh? ME! That's who! Who I trust? ME!"

Utah is slipping a bit. Don't know why, maybe because Bogdanovic has been out. They got pasted by Boston 125-97. tonight. Boston, now they've been scary. And I still think Memphis is the scariest team in the West besides Phoenix.
At least our dis function is in the front office. Our team is so fun to watch and root for.
Lots of teams did us favors tonight. Utah lost, Minnesota lost.

I really like where the Mavs are right now.

Combined with discord in Miami and (hopefully) the Lakers losing and it is a very nice night indeed.

That's a crazy meltdown on the court. Can't remember another one like that in a long time.

Despite Spolestra's proclamations, I don't think that kind of anger comes about from just playing poorly 2 games in a row and hurting your "competitive nature."

If Miami is done with the Jimmy Butler experience, what poor team would bite? That's now 3 teams moving on from Jimmy because of his attitude.

The real question is, if Miami were to ever blow it up, how many picks and first borns do we need to send to get Bam?

It will never happen, but man can we dream…If the Mavericks had Adebayo right now I would pick them to make it out of the west.

Yeah...... A man can dream though right??

Hell I never thought the Clippers would get Kawhi+PG in one night, so crazier things have happened!

Also yes. This team with Bam is a 65+ win team with multiple championships in the horizon and I'd take that to the bank.
In response to Miami, how poor of a person, internally, do you have to be to tell a man with multiple rings that he won with this franchise that you "made" the franchise, when you have NO RINGS of your own?  I really don't care...if Jason Tatum looked at Greg Kite and said "I made this team, Gramps", that's Tatum being a moron.  To which I would ask "Made it what exactly?"  What is wrong with these people?

So this is why he's out for the season. Damn...

You're right, UD is Heat Royalty.

Every week there's something new with Holmes this season. First his eye gets destroyed and puts him out. Then a family member whom he was close with died unexpectedly. Then he gets covid. Then he loses his spot to Sabonis. Now this?

Holmes reply:

Seems like the tweet was deleted. This is what it said "[Holmes on Twitter] I never respond to allegations but when it’s comes to my son I gotta speak. You have to be goofy as hell to believe that about me…my heart BEATS for my son i live this very life to see him happy and could never raise a hand to harm him EVER"
Too much smoke with Holmes. I’m out. I’d rather get Drummond for the minimum
