Terrible. Hope he can get over this injury bug.

Also whenever you hear "minor' when it comes to a back injury, its hard not to scoff at that. I hope it really is minor.
For reference, Washington first plays in Brooklyn on October 25th. The media coverage should be... interesting.

I'm not clear on why the visiting players will be allowed to play -- I recently visited New York and it didn't matter that I was from Texas, I still had to show my vaccination card to get into restaurants, museums, etc. Is everyone just assuming that because the *NBA* won't impose the restriction, that the cities involved won't as well?

No assumptions required. The local city mandates do not apply to visiting players.

That's actually kind of my point. Visitors in general are *not* exempt from New York's vaccination policies, has anyone seen any confirmation from the actual cities (and not sports reporters who are only talking to people in the sports world) that visiting NBA players will be exempt?

Be sure to check out section 2.c of de Blasio's executive order:

§ 2.  I hereby order that the following individuals are exempted from this Order, and therefore may enter a covered premises without displaying proof of vaccination, provided that such individuals wear a face mask at all times they are unable to maintain six (6) feet of distance from other individuals inside the covered premises:
    c. A nonresident professional athlete/sports team who enters a covered premises as part of their regular employment for purposes of competing
