Wasn't this speculated when he stepped down in BOS?

Jesus he looks like a nose tackle.

He's the 1-technique. Luka is the 3-technique.

Is Zion really as big as he looks in that photo?  Or is it a weird angle or something?  He looks huuuuuuge in that picuture!

He is reported to be 330+ lbs right now.
My sauces say that Zion considered quiting basketball, went to training camp with the Saints, got cut, and then decided to stick with basektball.
So what's it going to take for NO to admit he's not playing this season?

Making enough money to break even for the year, maybe?

Zion is in danger of becoming the most high profile bust ever, maybe.

My brother and I were having that exact conversation yesterday and were trying to think of any other NBA busts that would come close to Zion (if he does indeed become a bust).

The biggest relatively recent bust I could think of (from my relatively short NBA fandom) was Greg Oden, but that's nothing compared to if Zion busts.

Hope he can get healthy and actually play, but it seems less likely each day.
That thing's not going to heal with 400 lbs coming down it every time he takes a step
Lakers signing Isaiah Thomas.  Interesting.

Kwame Brown, Anthony Bennett and Darko Millicic were high draft pick busts also.

Yeah, those are great examples of players picked high in the draft that busted out, and there are many more.

But I'm struggling to remember someone who was a cultural phenom like Zion falling on his face this hard. The last example of this type of hype in the NBA was Lebron James, so situations like his don't even come around very often.

The only thing I can come up with is when Ricky Williams was drafted by the Saints, but he eventually recovered from his rocky start and had a pretty good career.
I said this on the day after Zion played his first NBA game (Jan 23, 2020):

Quote:I do NOT trust his body. Everything about his normal walking and moving motion screams injury risk. I would be terrified if the Mavs had him instead of Luka.

Westbrook in protocols.  I wonder if we'll catch some cases too.
