Tatum over KD?  I know KD was hurt this year, but everything being equal, I don't think so.

DFS is a good defender. A very hard working defender who has some great nights. But he is not an elite defender IMO.

I happen to agree.  He's no Kawhi Leonard when healthy.  Or Mikal Bridges.   He's probably equal to Matisse Thybulle both are on most people's All-Defense list, except DFS is the better shooter than Thybulle.  This is not disparaging him.  He's certainly the Mav's best defender.

I know it’s a hot take on a Mavs message board, but I think too many Mavs fans compare him against his teammates and think elite defender. In that sense, they are right. I’m not so sure when comparing him with the league though. If he is on that level, don’t forget, league recognition awards start coming after a player starts getting league recognition for that category. If he has gotten to that point this year, he might start building that up for a placement next year. This is the case for most players to knock guys off the list 90% of the time.

I'm in Texas.

2022 NBA MVP:

1.  Nikola Jokic
2.  Giannis Antetokounmpo
3.  Joel Embiid
4.  Luka Doncic

100% with you.
I'd vote Booker in my top spot simply because of how often he gets overlooked and dismissed.

It looks like he's less of an after thought than Luka, according to the chart. He has fans in Hawaii and Louisiana, I guess!

The guy who I feel is becoming weirdly underrated is Giannis! He has almost doubled in offensive skill since he won his MVP.

I think the "fat Luka" narrative spoiled any chance of him being an MVP which is mostly a shame.  The trouble moving forward is that people will be spoiled by his monstrous stats.  He'll probably need to average a 30 point triple double before he gets real consideration.

Biased opinion:

1. Luka (Had a better record than all of those guys while averaging 30/10/9 since January).
2. Jokic.
3. Giannis
4. Embiid

Realistic opinion:
1.Jokic
2. Giannis
3. Luka
4. Embiid.

The East is closing the gap.

"The league released a head-spinning statistic on Monday revealing that the Eastern Conference won the season series against the Western Conference (226 wins for the East versus 224 wins for the West) for the first time since the 2008-09 campaign."

Head-spinning?  Seriously?  The East won the season series against the West by ½ of an eyelash [226-224].

The best team in the East had the same W-L record as the third-best  team in the West.  [ELEVEN GAMES behind the best in the West.]

Four out of the top five W-L records in the NBA belong to Western Conference teams.

The sixth-best team in the West had the same record as the fifth-best team in the East.

The seventh-best team in the West had the same record as the sixth-best team in the East.

Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, etc.

Yes, the Eastern Conference has indeed "closed the gap," and my head is SPINNING!!!

Nets v Celtics

Is Cle set on playing both Allen and Mobley together? Man, I'd love to get one of those guys.

Don't shoot the messenger.  I didn't write the story. ?

Huh?  I'm not shooting the messenger or anybody else.

Figure of speech. Take it up with who wrote the story. I just shared it. Not getting into a back and forth with you bruh. You can think what you want, but the East has improved, even if it was by two more wins. That hasn't happened since 09.

When you posted the article, HoosierDaddyKid, the only words you wrote were "The East is closing the gap," and I AGREED UNEQUIVOCALLY with those words ("Yes, the Eastern Conference has indeed 'closed the gap,' ....").

I thought the choice of words ["head-spinning statistic"] by the author of the article was funny, because the East won the season series against the West by the smallest margin possible.  So I explained my thoughts on that topic and posted a funny (but relevant) GIF.  That is all.

(I think Luka's injury may have shortened some of the fuses around here.)

Peace.
AntMan is a stud. T-Wolves on the verge of beating the favored Clips with KAT on the bench after he fouled out. PatBev revenge game.
