So.. if you get the #1 pick in the draft, do you use it on Bronny and 1 year of Lebron at the minimum?
I never would've thought that the time Darrell Armstrong doing a layup in the dunk contest would be outdone in suckery.

Sheesh that dunk contest was so bad. Can the NBA just stop this...?

Bronny isn't that good of a player, and Lebron will be 40.

Seems like Lebron is trying to guarantee a 4 year multi-million dollar contract for his kid before he retires. Pretty smart if you ask me.
Dunk contest should have been retired after Vince.

40 year-old LeBron could do some work in the G League.

He is putting so much pressure on his kid's shoulders

The moment somebody wrote "You really think some team will waste a 1st round pick on his son just so"....and you realize LeBron will finish his career with the Mavericks. Confused Big Grin

You can always watch Steph casually hit 70% of his halfcourt shots in practice. Truly insane.
By all account Bronny James is a real good player.   He supposedly plays with a ultra talented team and fits in with that team.   He is not the star.   With that being said, ESPN has him ranked as the #43 ranked prospect in the 2023 class.  Take these rankings with a grain of salt.  These kids are so young and there will be several who jump up a few levels over the next 1.5-2.5 years.    But as of now, I don't think people are thinking Bronny as a one and done type of kid.   I hope he doesn't feel pressure to do so, so he can play with his dad.   It is just adding stress to the kid.  I am sure it is already tough being the kid of an all time great.  They do appear to have a close relationship though.

It could set up an odd scenario though.   Teams working out Bronny for the draft but being more interested in working out a 40 year old Lebron and trying to make a decision how high they should take Bronny.

100% chance Cuban is going to try to trade up for Bronny though just to get a year of Lebron with Luka.  2024 Mavs starting lineup:  Luka, Lebron, Bronny James, Zhaire Wade & Dinwiddie
So is there a world where Lebron and/or AD may be moved this offseason or next trade deadline?

If so, it probably plays out this way.  Lebron wants another title and LAL isn't the path.  Lakers realize they are stuck and Lebron quietly asks the Lakers to move him.   Lakers look to acquire picks and do a reset.   Anthony Davis is either the centerpiece of the rebuild or they move him too.
I do think LeBron will ask to be traded.  Lakers are smartly not wanting to give up 2027 so they are probably stuck with Westbrook.  With LeBron's age, desire to go elsewhere and need for another contract, I don't think he'll have a tremendous amount of value.  I'm not sure what you could get for AD but I am sure there are desperate enough teams to try and weather his injury concerns and look over the fact that he hasn't played all that great this year.
Lebron and Bosh. Lebron and Love. Lebron and Davis. I think Lebron needs to BE the big for the team to work. He’s fir sure big enough to deal with the bigger bigs of the league and he is a switchable defender.

I think that's a realistic probability. Mostly because we've seen Lebron do this time and again. He orchestrates his way to a perfect situation. Strangleholds said team into spending literally all their assets to get "his" guys to win now. And then orchestrates his exit as soon as the team is bled dry and isn't performing. It's the Lebron Cycle. Sure it might get you a championship, it'll just cost you 5-10 years in rebuilding.

With that said, I can see Lebron trying to force his way to make another super team. Maybe the Warriors since they have all those young guys.

I've been thinking Cleveland and then he said yesterday, "that door hasn't closed".
This of course brings the inevitable question. Would you pay (lets say) two FRP for one year of LeBron? Is he good enough to bring Dallas over the top?

Pros:
- As long as Luka doesn't seriously injure himself, Dallas has a team set that could allow LeBron to more or less rest through regular season. There is enough depth even if THJ and SD are outgoing as matching salary
- LeBron is LeGM - good players will sign for vet minimun when he is around
- huge marketing boost
- could resign after the season and he might have a couple of more good seasons left

Cons:
- short term gamble. If it doesn't work, Mavs are further away
- could leave after first season

I can see another "Return" back to Cleveland. But if you're the Cavs do you even want him back? This is the first time since 1990 as a franchise they've had success without Lebron. Why ruin that?

Also if I'm Cleveland, why would I want to give the Lakers assets for Lebron? Even KLove+protected 1st seems to rich for me since KLove is playing an integral role off the bench for them.

He's still a major draw and this is a business.

I hope LeBron does orchestrate one more move as it would be another "LeBron cycle" (think that's what you called it) and we can add another nail to the coffin that he's the GOAT.
