Maybe we can stop the LaVine to Dallas talk based largely on Duffy being LaVine's agent. Never saw that working.

CLE - We made a mistake by giving you that contract. We don't want to pay you $60M, to be on our roster. Let's talk about you taking less than $60M.
Love - You can waive me and pay me (stretching the $60M over 7 years) if you wish. But I want the $60M you agreed to pay me, to get me to re-sign with you.
The Cavs are dealing with what's known as sunk cost. They are going to pay Love $60M (or very close to it), whether he is on their roster, or whether they waive him. There is no world in which someone will trade for the privilege of paying that $60M. Keeping him on their roster probably does them no good, to have thim there, but it might make them feel like he didn't get what he would prefer, and thus they think it will be a win somehow to keep him on their roster.
Except, "sunk cost" means they have already LOST. No matter how they play it. They will pay him about $60M.
(A version of this same game may be in play in TOR with Dragic. Owners hate to pay. It's real money to them. Then they waste even more money, and lose ground, by insisting on finding a way to win that might be just adding another loss instead. The drama is fun when it's not the team you root for.)

I think Philly can sell him anyday for a package offered by one of the teams reported. I don't think those offers are decreasing yet so they can afford to wait for Lillard a little bit longer. But I guess the staring contest will not go long after training camp start

Even without Huerter, Lou Willliams, Gallinari, Reddish and a back-up C they are already at $110M next year.
I wonder about the value of Gallinari. Will the Hawks have to attach an asset to get rid of him or actually get some positive return for him.
