@"SleepingHero", that picture!! It illustrates what I said in my second flat earth post. Look how far away they have to draw South America from Africa (in the real world, only 1600 miles!)...and Oceania from South America and Africa! I know they think NASA is part of the conspiricy, but do they also think the thousands of years of sailors are in on it too?

I mean, what they believe is insane. So I'm not expecting them to have covered all their bases. But this seems like something they couldn't have even a dumb, insane answer for.

Next summer...coming to MavsBoard....the epic Flat Earth thread.
So how long until the latest big three falls apart? I think Irving will balk and vaccine himself but he will not forget he was forced to do it. Betrayed in a way.

I don´t think he will - he will sit it out. It´s me against the whole world for him. And he will be payed too, so there is no hurry. All Covid-related limitations will be gone next spring.

That would be awesome and amazing. But why do you think so?

Unsaid is that he is still, in theory, "tradeable". Possibly to a team with less stringent local requirements.

If he participates part-time and gets hurt, then that option is much less viable.

In Germany it´s called 3G - Genesen - Geimpft - Gestorben

That means after this winter you will be recovered, vacciniated or dead.
Sure you can lock yourself up, but who will really do this forever?

Kind of gallows humor, but I like the philosophy!
Nah, there's no way Kyrie caves. He's way too headstrong for that, which is why we're seeing this announcement. And since not playing him is the team's choice, I assume they still have to pay him (at least for the games he's eligible to play). Now he can focus full-time on social issues and add personal medical autonomy to his list of causes.

I think Luka can adjust to it and see less of an impact to his game than those two.

For Harden, it's been a genius (albeit beyond frustrating) exploitation of the way the NBA is officiated.  He is an absolute master and you can't argue with the numbers and how it has benefitted his game/stats and his teams.  I do think he has already adjusted his game in Brooklyn, becoming the true PG and utilizing this move less than when he had to completely carry those Houston teams.

For Trae, he too has been a wizard (and just as frustrating) at creating contact with non-basketball contortions of his body.  If this rule is actually officiated correctly I think he stands to be hurt the most by it.  His size is a negative for him and he has used his incredible craftiness to offset that by drawing fouls and making it hell to defend him without fouling.  He is still an incredibly gifted scorer and passer, but I think the hostage dribble will be much less effective for him because of his size and the fact he can't jump backwards into defenders that can still contest from behind.  Not saying he will fall off a cliff or anything but he will have to make the biggest adjustment to his game.

For Luka, the hostage dribble will still be incredibly effective because his size prevents defenders from contesting once he puts them in his back pocket.  He will have to learn to eliminate the wild foul drawing shots from his step back arsenal but his game isn't nearly as built around this as Harden's was prior to joining Brooklyn.  The biggest adjustment for Luka will continue to be how he reacts to these new non-calls (or worse offensive foul calls) along with all the non-calls he endures because he is a big strong dude.

Seems like this dufus had the chance to trade Simmons for Harden the first go around.

Quick correction. 3G is a guideline/rule. Stands for recovered, vaccinated, tested (not dead). 2G is the stricter option. Only recovered and vaccinated. Most states are going with the 3G model and offer private business (from restaurants and bars to concerts and sport events) the option to enforce the stricter version.

Doesn´t mean that @"Mapka" longterm predicition is wrong. Prayers up for a quick end to this. We really don´t need another variant or other unknown complications.

Last thing I heard prior to this is that Simmons was willing to join the Kings. The Kangz. Desperation or negotiation tactics? I don´t really know. I guess he would be in California. But also playing for the worst run franchise in the league.
I guess both sides are starting to understand that playing hard ball won´t help. Simmons would lose nearly 8m in the coming weeks. 76ers would nuke their early season.

The idea that Brooklyn's implosion is feeding Morey's delusional false hope (to the detriment of his own team) just makes it even more entertaining.

If there is any player I'd expect to actually follow through with a protest about some nonsense, it's Kyrie Irving.

Anyone seen this video of him telling KD he was him in a former life...?

This vid made me laugh too:

Sometimes he can actually be insightful... well maybe not insightful, but different. I respect him for beating to his own drum (sometimes).

Jokic, Saric and Bitadze were ABA MVP´s at Samaric´s age, while Samaric was a mere game to game footnote, yet he was picked 19th. Not even sharing a first name with Doncic, should have gotten him into the 1st round.

Not advocating Samanic, but here in europe there could be a lot of factors about playing time and giving a chance to a younger player and prediction what could he become in Nba.

Jokic and Bitadze were playing for ''private club'' of one of the biggest agents in european basketball and that club don't have any results expectations and sometimes is called a ''club were players come just to put good numbers'' and then got a better contract elsevhere.

Saric was playing for Cibona who is historically big club, but now they're in financial crisis for more then a decade and are mostly focused on (young) homegrown players and 1 or 2 cheap Usa players.

Also, Dragic, Nurkic and Cancar were also relatively unknown in euroleague level of basketball and without ''MVP role'' in Aba league but all have succes in Nba.

A lot of times is giving a chance to a younger players in europe a problem. Sometimes a good prospect signs with a bigger club because of history and money, but then is also a problem because that club is always under a preasure of winning and is not giving a chance to a young player, sometimes club is fighting to stay in the league and are also not giving a chance to a younger players...
