With Pop aging out, I'd be tempted to put Spoelstra in as the best coach in the league

Add another player to the young former lottery pick pool for 2022.

Last 10 games of Jalen Smith

13/8 on 57/39/83 shooting

[Last 10 games of Malik Monk

21/3/2 on 57/46/90 shooting]

These are the kind of players we should target for the MLE in the summer. Maybe Smith can be acquired in a trade for a veteran given that the Suns are in win now mode.

There is a good chance we don't do the MLE in the summer.  We might be trying to avoid the tax, or we might be going the other way and not want to be hard capped.

Don't care still want Murray....

Good to see Pop doesn't let him get away with that and is stopping that bad habit from forming.
Hawks getting taken to the woodshed by a pretty mediocre Clippers team minus Paul George.  This will put the Hawks 5 games under .500.  So far this year, they have not looked the same.   They have been one of the harder hit COVID teams, but they have underperformed for sure.

I think they are going to make a sneaky big trade by trade deadline.  The first round pick from last year Okongwu is back and playing.   Do they move John Collins?  I thought in time Collins would be moved when their younger players grew.  But I didn't see this for at least another year or 2.   Moving Collins now, they will have Hunter and Okongwu who can play the PF minutes.   Maybe Collins, Bogdan and/or Reddish can get get a higher tier two guard??

I haven't seen Jalen Smith play yet.  I was not a huge fan of his in the draft and thought he went too early.  But I thought he was better than he showed.   I know there is talk Dallas may not use the MLE next year, but if they did would you prefer Dragic or Smith for that dollar amount?    We haven't seen Dragic play at all and maybe Smith doesn't even hit the market if he is moved.   But there is an interesting argument, Smith, in time, could be a really interesting piece in our big man lineup.    I would prefer a higher tier player, but it could make sense.

100%
Gotta beat them Grizz.
Ja Morant is legit a freak of nature.

Agreed. But let the Grizz take down the Lakers tonight first. Lakers always must lose.

They continue to win without key players in their lineup.  Dillon Brooks who is probably their best perimeter defender is out for 2-4 weeks with a high ankle sprain.  When Ja was out they kept winning.  They have a test Tuesday when the Dubs come to town.  Must see...
So Trae keeps chucking and flexing for the crowd in losses while Collins has zero plays called for him?  Atlanta seems to be its own worst enemy.

Yeah, I thought Collins sacrificed his game during their playoff run and made some really big plays late too.  But I always thought long term it wasn't going to work.  I didn't expect it to happen so soon though.  I always thought ATL resigned him to keep the asset but long term they would look to move him with all their young players.   Collins probably views himself as a # 2 option, but in reality he probably is a 3/4 type option on a good team.

He would have been a Mavs target in the next year or so for me.
