The Mavs don't need someone with as much talent as LaVine....hell, Christian Freaking Wood is the most talented player Luka has EVER played with. The bar is really low.

You and I both thought Dinwiddie was gonna suck here, and while I understand that his impact on winning early this season is in question, I think you’d agree that he has been much better here than anticipated since last season’s trade deadline.

Imagine someone with the size, speed and skil LaVine has getting downhill into that space Luka creates like Dinwiddie does! And I might be misremembering this part, but I feel like he has a pretty good catch and shoot game, too.

Oh I would like LaVine in a vacuum....but at his contract it could get the Mavs stuck worse than KP if it didn't work out.

Well, the good news is that if the Mavs miss on the next one the way they missed on Porziņģis, nothing that happens afterwards will matter anyway because Luka will be a Laker.

Donovan Mitchell has only had a positive On/Off in 3 out of 5 years (not including this one cause season isn't over yet).

Just saying a lot more matters than a stat that dictates team trends. If anything Lavine has been playing out of position the last 2 years with DeRozan there. Him next to Luka (and McGee  Wink ) would be a monstrous backcourt.

why would you utter these disgusting words.

I'd love that.
The era of Devin Harris-Jet and Jet-JJB was entertaining, but always exploited.

Would make Mav history if the backcourt consists of 2 guys at 6'7". Probably would be the biggest backcourt in the league.
Come on, Utah! Beat PHX!
A part of me wants Lauri to be terrible.
He wanted to be on the Mavs and I'm assuming the Mavs were interested but not enough to push thru with anything.

Lost opportunity.
Jazz pull through!

The Mavs and Western Conference favorites, the Suns, have the exact same record.

We gotta be patient, my guys. This could all be a huge disappointment, but that's what we were all feeling at this point last year, too.

Patience is fine. Just a lot of self-inflicted, easily rectifiable decisions that are/aren’t being made. It will matter in the end.

we really can beat anyone on any given night. No team I'm particularity scared of outside of the Bucks. Wide open league. Shame we haven't made the moves to take advantage of that. The next super team is going to pop up at any moment

I think we’ve seen enough to know he is not the guy you can build around, but I’m pretty confident he can play next to the guy you build around. I think he’d be bonkers here.

But at the end of the day, my pitch is this: whatever big swing trade they make in a year or two, I bet it is for a player nowhere close to as good as LaVine.

All the low-percentage 3pt shots Luka takes at the end of games; Lavine makes them at a 40% clip. Highest percentage based on degree of difficulty and volume. Even if the knee injury is starting to slow him down, he´d still thrive next to Luka. This would be an EASY deal to make if these morons had given Brunson 120/4.

Brunson + Bullock for Lavine, I think the Bulls say yes without any hesitation. It´s unbelievable.

Now with the Kleber extension making him ineligible for this season you basically have no way to construct a reasonable trade at the moment.
The Taiwanese Wilt Chamberlain.  Even shot 10 threes.

Personally, I would add Boston to your list. They're 13-3 and on a 9 game heater, without Timelord no less.

I put my special MBT spin to it.

Knicks: Rose + Quickley for THJ + Bullock
Mavs: Okay but keep Quickley.

Man...I have gotten flack for criticizing Giannis' game in the past...but I truly do like the person.  Seems like a genuinely good dude.

But damn that ladder situation is so on him.  Its just overboard having to shoot free throws AFTER a game.  I get it...perception is everything.  But this is going overboard.  Its unnecessary unless you are trying to win "good guy" points.  Its Tim Teebow territory as far as cringe.

The whole situation should never have happened.   Just go to a 24 hour fitness and shoot free throws where no one is around and working and you dont have people "hating" you like me claiming this was a stunt to win "good guy" points.   Just go practice on your own somewhere.
Giannis could’ve handled it better, but what work were they doing for a 7:30 game the next day? I’m not saying they didn’t have work to do, just curious. Also, Harrell being the instigator in this is not surprising at all. Giannis wanted to make ten in a row, right? Pretty sure the arena staff could’ve accommodated him. It’s just Philly being Philly. Just like Masshole gonna Masshole. The one guy in grey was willing to move the ladder. The other little dude just wanted to be a tough guy and get a medal from the Philly pride jerks. He’ll probably be interviewed on Monday on one of their radio shows where he’ll be hailed a hero.
