The two best bigs in the league.  I don't look at Giannis as a traditional  big, but what do you guys think?

Was Olajuwon directly comparing the two?

or did that tweet take two separate thoughts and combine them in one tweet to get a rise out of people?

this is why I hate twitter culture. I never know what’s real.

Maybe it´s just me, but I´m just not comfortable with Jokic moving to a tie for 6th place on the all-time MVP list. I understand basketball is a team game, but one of my rules for great players is that they can at least carry a franchise to the NBA finals by themselves once. They might only do it once. They might get beat badly, but there will be a window of opportunity and the great player will take it. Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing, Allen Iverson. Jokic having three MVPs feels wrong, just like Steve Nash having two.
Tatum will probably get it if the Celtics finish with a better record.  Jokic will suffer from voter fatigue.

So you're saying his substitute (or the group that plays when he doesn't) must be historically bad. Right?

That seems very likely. The 3-in-a-row MVP awards have been few, and voters tend to LOOK for a different name after 2 in a row, to cater to that history.

Tatum - best player, on best team - is a logical alternative. Or someone on a top team who has been "overlooked" despite superb years in the past.
Embiid is pretty unlikeable. Practically begging for the MVP, always bitching. And such a front runner. I think he’s going to force his way to Miami or something soon.

Bitching? He doesn't bitch anymore than anyone else. They're all divas. Luka does his share as well as great as he is. Besides, Embiid's stats speak for themselves.
Don't look now, but the Lakers with 24 losses are just 2 games behind the 6th seeded Jazz also with 24 losses. So they're still in it despite injuries and a unbalanced roster. Never seen parity like this ever in both conferences.
Shocking, not surprising how far Memphis and Denver has separated themselves from Dallas.  Just smart roster building.

How frustrating it must be to root for the Clippers.   They played Dallas to break a 6 game losing streak, then Lost to Denver, Beat Houston and now have lost two in a row.  Tonight neither Paul George or Leonard are both out.   Just no joy in watching that team with some many guys not playing game in, game out.

If the Mavs were to lose the next three they could possibly be in sole possession of 13th in the West.

I´m sure Mark Cuban is honest with himself realizing that the only reason we are not sitting in 10th half a game ahead of the Lakers in 13th are literally the flukiest win in the last 30 years and Luka hitting b2b game-tying threes. That and Luka averaging 45/10/10 to beat the worst teams in the league by a winning margin of like five points. If the Mavs were honest with themselves, they´d be sellers at the deadline, play Green/Hardy and keep that top 10 pick. Cause right now we are headed exactly for the predicted classic Mavs outcome of losing in the play-in and converting the 12th pick to the Knicks.

And I don´t care whether Luka likes it or not. It´s the best strategy. Not trading future 1sts and Green to acquire Bogdanovic and Conley. Ugh.

Playing Green and Hardy might win you more games Big Grin

Hardy is motivated to play D, even with 3-5 rookie mistakes per game. Not sure if he is such a downgrade on defense compared to some of the guys that are playing.
Richaun Holmes with 16pts/11reb against the Lakers. Can we please help the Kings out of their misery and eat his contract.

Definitely another buy low option.
People better start paying attention to the Kangz, I mean Kings now. They have moved past N.O.and are the 3rd seed, on a 5 game winning streak.

Great. So perhaps they will think they are very close and move some assets for minor improvements. I have no idea what is their need, didn't watch them at all. I think they might still lack some wings. "So, may we interest you in Bullock, he is just rounding up to last years excellent form? Price? A real bargain." Lets say Holmes and Davis for Bullock, McGee and 2023 FRP. "

Sacramento gets an experienced playoff leader with multiple rings and a perfect back-up for Sabonis. Invaluable for young team such as Kings. Bullock is proven vet who was an invaluable contributor in Mavs WCF run last season.

That might happen if Vlade Divac was still running things.  I guess I detect some sarcasm here, or maybe not. I hardly doubt they make that deal,  Big Grin Big Grin
