I understand basketball is a team game, but one of my rules for great players is that they can at least carry a franchise to the NBA finals by themselves once. They might only do it once. They might get beat badly, but there will be a window of opportunity and the great player will take it. Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing, Allen Iverson. Jokic having three MVPs feels wrong, just like Steve Nash having two.

It is a regular season award, and should be treated as such.

Yep, Siakam is THE guy to get, if he's gettable.
I seriously do not understand why people keep doing this to themselves. There is no trade that brings Anunoby OR Siakam to Dallas. There is a trade that brings Anunoby AND Siakam to Dallas. Just depends how much you like Luka.

It's the cycle of hope and then that big game hunting turns into Reggie Bullock.

Don't look now, but OKC is in a tie with four teams for 7th-10th in the west.  They've won four in a row and sit half a game behind Utah for sixth.  Can we imagine a world where OKC not only makes the playoffs, but avoids the play-in?  I could see them passing Utah and Dallas, but they might get passed by LAC and GS.  Today's Lowe Post spends some time talking OKC.  I came away thinking their future is bright.  More than that, I came away thinking they have a plan.

Prognosticators talk a lot about "locks" to make the playoffs and I always chuckle a bit.  Injuries always play a role.  Did anyone have the Kings hosting a first round playoff back before the season started?

I've been saying this for awhile now. OKC is not an easy out. And in the future they are scary.

They have SGA, Giddey, Lu Dort, and a rehabbing Chet. They have a roster of 20-23 year olds they could trade.  Not to mention a treasure chest of picks.

They could add anyone they want without touching their core.

If and when they get serious, the West is in trouble.

They are a team that could trade for Siakam AND OG right now. And not touch their core.

i'm glad they arent tanking. If they were to add Wemby or Scoot to what they have, it'll get ugly fast.

I thought the bit about OKC only bringing in players "who can make a decision with the ball" kind of highlights the mistakes the Mavs have made when making this roster.

Feels like the evolution of the NBA over the past decade was everyone learned how to shoot threes, then everyone learned how to get switchable defenders to defend the three better and the next phase feels like everyone can shoot AND dribble and make decisions to counter the scrambling defenses.  Basically...look at the Celtics roster.

Which is why you don’t trade Josh Green.  And part of why I like Vanderbilt.
Can we trade for the OKC front office?

Will he ever make an all-star team again?
Lakers stop the Grizzlies 11 game win streak, 122-121, and the Kings win their 6th straight 118-113 over the Thunder who had won 4 of 5.
