Speaking of the douche, if Utah trades Mitchell, I'm sure they'd be willing to reroute PatBev.  Time to reunite Powell with Ainge.

Never trade with Ainge.  If Gobert is worth that many picks, not even Presti could afford Mitchell.
Utah joining the wobble for Wembanyama sweepstakes or do they plan to keep Mitchell?  Sounds like he will go too.

It is early but Minny and New Orleans look better positioned than the Mavs.    Utah has dropped way back.   Phx will be TBD.

If Gobert is worth that many picks, I can't wait to see what Durant fetches.

Question: was KAT's new deal an extension, or not? Which answer makes him eligible for trade immediately?

Gobert only plays 30 minutes a night.  So they can stagger some of those minutes for KAT at the 5 and have him post up.

It worked for Dallas with Dirk and Chandler.   I bet it can work with Minny.  But Dirk was unselfish, and not a prima donna like KAT....  so it will take KAT to buy into it.

And Gobert didn't get anything from Utah on offense.  Mitchell literally averaged 3 passes (not assists!) a game to Gobert.  Gobert may find some easier looks off of KAT and Edwards when they get doubled.
New Minnesota owners spending like crazy Smile Anyone noticed their new GM didn't need a year to start making moves Smile

I kind of hate the trade though.

The traded their 22 FRP, 3 unprotected FRPs, another future FRP and a pick swap for Gobert.  They better hope that trio works out as it will be very hard to course correct from.  Shades of KP, minus the injury concerns and Minny have a much better foundation.

Its a gamble for sure. But GM obviously had a very clear task

Interesting.  With 6 round picks the last two days, do they use these now?  I doubt Mitchell wants to stick around for a lengthy rebuild?

PHX is probably not interested in a bunch of picks for Ayton.   Most of those future picks may not have huge value now.   Probably best to hold on to.
Cavs signed Neto and Rubio. Sexton out? There are still some rumors floating around unreliable sources that Mavs offered a contract, but I don't see how they could pull it off without paying way too much.

Yeah, I don't know what to think there.   Maybe collecting for the inevitable Sexton trade at some point?

If Mavs didn't value Jalen here, I find it odd if they went after another smaller, score first, ball dominant point guard.   Sexton may have higher upside but he is also less efficient.

Could be a quick rebuild with the assets.  If they like Mitchell, I'd ask him to stick around for a year for the Wembanyama sweepstakes with the promise that if he doesn't like the outcome, they'll trade him to a preferred destination.  If he doesn't agree, sell him to the highest bidder.

PatBev is a fantastic idea, even if it's for only when we play the Knicks!

Maybe...Ainge is the GM to tell a player you are not going anywhere.    He won't move him unless he gets an offer he can't refuse.   With all the picks he got for Gobert, he is going to have huge expectations.

Donovan may not want to wait though.

The bigger question in my mind is if Ainge thinks Mitchell is that dude.  And I'd guess not, but maybe that's my own personal bias creeping in.  I will say that after watching interviews with him during our series, he's super easy to like as his interviews are very thoughtful.

That would be Alex Rodriguez ( A-Rod) making a splash as one of the owners. Also Tim Connelly, former Nuggets GM is pushing the buttons for the T'-Pups. Pretty ballsy move for his 1st deal.

Not really of any significance, any more than Utah's new guy making big moves too. Neither is an NBA newbie -- both have been doing it for many years elsewhere (with good results to show for it) before getting hired away to do it somewhere else.
