Ya, if they stuck to starting him there is no doubt in my mind they don’t make it this far.
Boston doesn't have the same vibe as last year, even though on paper they have a better team. Might be different if Udoka was still there, because Mazzula is getting schooled by Spoelstra.

Yup. Shows you how much of a joke these "experts" are that he has never won COTY.
“That award is dangerous, because that award leads to getting fired the next year,” I’ll pass on that.” - JKidd on Monty Williams firing after winning coach of the year in '22.

So, this is why he wasn't really coaching, but just watching the game like the rest of us.
It speaks volumes that I had to look to see that that is, in fact, an actual Kidd quote and not a joke. Did any one see the piece of Mazulla’s post game that TNT had? Basically deflecting, avoiding answering the reporters questions about whether he should’ve doubled Butler or how to get better looks in the 4th. Actually threw his guys under the bus regarding both. Reminded me so much of Kidd. Both are under qualified and unwilling/unable to learn or take responsibility. What happens when you hire a guy based on popularity rather than actual coaching chops.

Budenholzer did the same at his presser. It took Giannis to call him out about why he didn't let him guard Butler, but Bud refused that idea worrying about him getting in foul trouble. At that point in the series, you have to do something to put out the fire...Ironically, it cost him his job.

At least the Mavs gave up on not trying to hurt Wood's feelings pretty early in the season!

Not the same effect.
Wood sees himself as a starter. He started at Detroit and Houston. No buy in from him.
Murray with 26pts. 5min left in the 2nd quarter. Turned it on in the 4th quarter of game two and hasn´t cooled down. Simply cannot miss.
I so hope Den sweeps the Lakers.
Lakers need Kyrie! Say it with me everyone..."Sign and Trade! Sign and Trade!"

As much as I like Kyrie's play (and attitude) so far in Dallas, I'm just waiting for some issue to pop up out of nowhere.
This is what Kyrie does.

Of course I wouldn't want him to walk for nothing.. so yes...
Sign and Trade (IMHo) is the way.

Reaves + Vanderbilt + whoever

I don't even care if the Mavs don't get a pick as long as Reaves and Vanderbilt are included.

Lakers are in a 0-3 hole vs Denver and D-Lo and Schroeder have been horrible getting torched by Murray. I could see Kyrie going there, but I disagree with the compensation of Reeves and Vanderbilt. Lakers will probably hold on to those two. The aforementioned Russell, Schroeder and Beasley will surely be moved.

There are some fans of D-LO here.  I am sorry, I just have never seen it.  He is fine as a player.  At moments, he is very good.  But he is the definition of the good player who once you have on your roster, you are always looking to upgrade.

Personally, this is where Nico should play hardball and say no Reeves, no deal. We are going to overpay and max Kyrie anyways. Kyrie has no leverage. If the Lakers want him and Kyrie wants them, they need to pay for that. Otherwise he's a Mav. Any deal needs to start with Reeves and Vanderbilt imo. After getting swept or the gentleman's sweep, LeBron will push for Kyrie. LeBron always gets his way.

Its his choosing, not Mavs, he is UFA. As I said many times, I don't think Mavs have great leverage to blackmail anyone, if Kyrie really wants to go. It will not end well, imho. Kyrie could take a discount to sign with Lakers, he could go to a third team with cap space just out of spite or unhappily sign with Mavs just looking to force his way out.  None of these scenarios brings value to Mavs. Their best way is to play as nice as possible and try their best to resign him.

I think a path for Kyrie to LA is much simpler at TDL than in summer. Leverage will also be higher than, as he will already be under contract. Lakers could resign Reaves (unless a third team offers something ridiculous), Hachimura and whatever other salaries.
Wow, how tall Wemby really is? Smile

If I was the Lakers GM, I would not trade Reaves straight up for Kyrie. Reaves reminds me of Brunson. He just knows how to play. Plus he's 24 years old and a wing. Plus his annual salary will be half of what Kyrie will command.

Reaves, Vanderbilt, and a 1st I think grossly misjudges Kyrie's value around the league and assumes Lebron is gonna strongarm his franchise into trading for Kyrie. JMO
