The assets might not be what you’re looking for, but if you keep them on the young player/draft capital side of things, you’ll get something useful.
Meanwhile, I can promise you that, despite the efforts of many on this board convincing themselves and others that Kyrie’s rep is all needlessly media driven due to him being misunderstood, the very LAST thing we should want is a Kyrie who feels like that Mavs backed him into a corner and that he had to re-sign for less than his worth.
I don’t think the Mavs would be that stupid, and in fact, I believe his contractual demands were probably known and mentally accepted before the trade even went down, but some of these rumors are starting to scare me a little.
I can believe the Mavs knew his contractual demands at the time.
However, Kyrie is Kyrie. You never know when the scorpion you're carrying on your back is gonna sting you and drown you both.
Sort of Risky imo. Well in the Sixers rights though and they will still control his rights next year. But when you have a young kid who has jumped and don't extend him it is something that would be in the back of my mind if I was the player. Total Morey move. Probably right decision to keep flexibility but you need to account for the human factor as well. A lot of his moves do not.

Doesn't Van Gundy getting fired play right into him landing the lead assistant role with the Mavs that was reported not too long ago?
I'd hate the move, but the stars are aligning for it to happen.

Oh, you’re right, no big news, nothing to see here.
Honestly, it felt that Portland was trying to force him to make that request. They want to rebuild but don't want to be the bad guy who forced the loyal player out.
Wow. Sounds like only two teams on his preferred destination: Miami and Brooklyn. I believe Portland will work with the Dame to get him to one of these two teams.
Miami has been the scent for a while and I am sure that his Dame's preferred destination. But Brooklyn has the better assets right? They can throw the PHX picks, Dallas pick, and others out there. They can also include the recent draft picks this past draft. The sheer quantity of picks is going to be tough for Miami to match.
What does this mean for Thybulle FA? Does Grant just take his money on a team looking to rebuild? Any chance to bring back DFS as a part of the trade in a three way?

Any draft capital left for Miami?
I'm reading Miami has two 1st to trade. Several years out.

As well as this year’s draft pick.
Indy traded for Toppin. It costed just one SRP more than Mavs have. Unfortunately, I can't see the Woj tweet for more details
Wow Knicks fans are gonna be mad. They’ve been trying to get rid of Randle hero ball/playoff choker so Toppin can play. (the fans)
