Lakers playing "Bully Ball" AD and LeBron punishing the Pacers in the paint. Austin Reaves has 22 pts off the bench, yet they are up only 65-60 at the half.
Freaking Lakers.

AD's best game since? Maybe ever...
Both teams couldn't hit a three to save their life but the Pacers rely on their outside shooting. Lakers can play bully ball in the paint.

Is this forum over the persistent narrative that Wood was mistreated in Dallas, regarding minutes, role, and finances? Maybe the treatment he was getting was about him and his expectations/play, and not about the coaching and front office in Dallas (or elsewhere).

The problem now is that admission will only open up the door to "see we wasted more draft picks" critique.

Sometimes Conspiracy Theories are just more fun.

I certainly want to delete some of my posts from last year (while apologizing to Kidd for his rotations in general).  Wood is a perfect example of the guy who doesn't get minutes for all the things you don't see behind the cameras.  He just seems dumb as a rock.

This is a real quote by Monty Williams. The Pistons have lost 20 in a row and haven't won a game since October.

No they are not IMO.

Draymond lost it again. Had just returned from a five game suspension. Probably the last time we have seen him on the court this year. Might be time for some anger management classes.
Wonder how many games he’ll get this time.

You could see one of the players on the Warriors bench just throw his arms up like wtf are you doing bro.

This should be the rest of the season + play-offs. WTF seriously. If this was the streets between Poole, Sabonis, Gobert and this,he´d be serving time by now. Absolutely ridiculous cunt. He initiates the contact with Nurkic, then proceed to simply punch him. I always said NBA bans for violent play are way too soft. When Bynum got five games for the flying clothesline on JJB, I knew they have lost all perspective. That was after Bynum put Wallace into the Emergency Room with the same move earlier in the season.
Man, what is going on with the Warriors? Draymond ejected again with another really crazy move. Has he jumped to crazy? Klay has not been good and is a FA this offseason. Wiggins continues to not play well.

They have some young talent but probably don't fit in the Curry window. They are not a contender now and appear really strong.

What is the move for them? Try to put a band-aid with Siakam? Blow it up? I don't think they would ever trade Curry though. Keep it as is? As mentioned this is not a contender and don't they have a huge tax bill.

Some really tough questions for a new GM.

Warrior fans are ready to throw everyone in a trade to get Steph some help. Kerr kept Klay and Wiggins on the final possession of last nights game when they needed a 3.

I was reading some of the posts on a Warriors fan forum and they are basically fed up with Klay and Wiggs and want Draymond to be suspended for the rest of the year.

100% buy low candidates. But trying to match their contracts without gutting the team would be difficult.

Holmes/Green for Wiggins misses by $18k.  Prior to the last 21 games, Wiggins would have been thought of as a fairly slight step down from OG.  It wasn't that long ago he was a 17/5 guy hitting 39% of his 3's with a good defensive reputation.

Now?  Buy low or washed?

Edit: BTW, if you are constructing trades with Holmes and Green, the range that works for PP is between $17.1mm and $24.3mm assuming there isn't something about the trade partner's cap that prevents the deal. So, if you go to Spotrac and look at league-wide salaries, Markkanen is the smallest contract that works for that exact outgoing. A Simons is the largest salary that works. Anything over $20mm of returning salary puts us in the tax.

It’s not the time between his last stretch of effective play and NOW that scares me, it’s everything he did before landing in Golden State.

Isn't there always some risk in a buy-low scenario.  Otherwise, the low part wouldn't exist.  That is the trick to these deals.  Almost no one here wanted Dinwiddie based on his recent past at the time of the trade.  But, if you went back further, you could find reason for hope.

There isn't much point in going too far down this rabbit trail as the deal doesn't work.  But just yesterday you were making the "it wasn't that long ago" argument on behalf of Maxi.  I think the last 3 seasons on a good team probably holds more weight than 2019 and prior on a bad team, but I can see the concern.

Unrelated...In four starts this season Exum is now 17.5/5/4.6.  His season long 3% went from .285% to 40% overnight (he was amazing last night).  I don't know if it makes more sense for him to start as the 3rd PG or come off the bench when everyone is healthy.  For the purpose of this exercise, I'll assume the bench.  Here is what I think is likely the current depth chart.

Lively     Holmes(Maxi)
GWill      OMax (Maxi)
DJJ        Green
Irving     THJ
Luka       Exum

What is the greatest need?  What 'asset' would be missed the least?

Yes I was making that argument, and believe in it for Kleber.

The "it wasn't that long ago" argument for Wiggins, in my view, is about how ridiculous he was BEFORE Golden State. I never once thought of him as a good player back then. I thought of him as a Christian Wood level disappointment who was finally forced to play winning basketball by Curry, Green, Thompson and Kerr. I might be wrong about that, but he's just another one I've never really liked from a far. So, again, it's not the CURRENT stretch of bad play that worries me, it's the entire body of work.
I'm also not sure the Mavs have to "buy low" necessarily. It's always good to be thrifty, for sure, and lord knows they'd be in a better spot if they hadn't been handing out assets at the door like entire past decade was Halloween, but...

I say stand pat unless something great falls into your lap. There really aren't huge issues right now, and we don't even know what this team is truly capable of yet. Plus, every day that goes by results in the Mavs' pile of assets getting bigger and better. Hell, even THJ and Holmes get closer to being expiring contracts every day they're not traded.

I am not bored with this team. I LIKE this team. I like them exactly as is, quite a bit. Not saying they couldn't be better, but I am saying that I don't think many of the deals I read about here this year make them better. My opinion.

I guess that's already a good sign. In the past, the issue with our ideas was that they couldn't afford them. I think the Mavs are starting to be able to afford some of these deals again. They need to be selective and choose the RIGHT one(s) this time around.
