Enough scrub centers at least

Explain yourself sir!

You think? Possible.

I think they might be shifting strategies. Lowry/THJ (assuming that was ever accurate) might have been the WIN THIS SUMMER plan. Now they might shift toward a stay competitive, but gain assets + maintain financial flexibility strategy. You can think of Bagley, Markkanen, Monk, Korkmaz, Z. Colins, Bamba etc. what you want but they are far more attractive trade package assets for a rebuilding team than anything we currently have on our roster. If the Wizards have the choice between THJ+ Kleber or Markkanen + Bagley the answer is obvious.
I think a Fournier-Oubre combo is a real possibility. Not sure where Dwight Powell ends up.

Makes sense.

Gotta give Nico props if this is the case. It is the SMART move but I think most would be too "one track minded" to shift gears so massively.
I've got us at $30.3mm in space with Willie and Moses and without Hardaway's hold.

Relatively easy to operate over the cap to keep THJ plus MLE plus TPE

Can also split the room between THJ and someone plus the rMLE.  Your best addition to THJ is better and the second addition is worse.

However, with 23 centers on the 15 man roster, it feels like another she could drop as part of either scenario above.  Sure, Kidd could win the Oscar.  But absent that, it might be more fruitful to look for Powell destinations.  Especially places that have players who might be outgoing anyway.  I could see Monk for Powell...still possible even though QO wasn't offered.  Strictly bench scoring.  Schwartz Special.

I will be in COMPLETE SHOCK if DP or KP are not traded.

All the tea leaves point to that.
@"DanSchwartzgan" is there any reason the Mavs would be "waiting" on a KP trade? Are there any dominoes that need to fall that make sense?

It is either that or KP is moving to PF or Moses is a short timer here or someone is wrong in their reporting about someone.  The question is who takes Powell and what is the return?
If Mavs don't bring back THJ, a trade for Buddy is 100% the answer. He's obviously pretty cheap and would be an upgrade on THJ. also doesn't take cap space.

I am starting to think Brown is not really in Mavs plan

Roster limits and hard caps from previous season.  Teams not controlling soon to be FA's.
Somebody posted that random THJ to Detroit rumour. Surely Hamidou Diallo is out, if that happens. Have the Pistons extended the QO to make him a RFA? Huh

Depending on what their strategy becomes regarding long-term salary, I could see a S&T deal centered around THJ for Hield + Bagley.

Thanks. Yes even without all the background information I was wondering a couple of weeks ago whether the Pistons could be a spot for him, but it seemed so unlikely given the stage of their rebuild and how loaded they are with young talent in the backcourt.

Surely Diallo (and DSJ) are the odd men out, if that happens. Josh Jackson is a possibility. They can´t move on from Hayes already, especially when he missed so much time in his rookie season.
Swapping THjr for Evan Fournier would make sense I guess. Evan kinda does everything a bit better. Better ballhandler, bigger, also a terrific shooter with meh defense though. You’d get either one in their prime. I’d like the Brunson-Green-Evan trio off the bench.

But Oubre? The time to go for him was years ago. He just doesn’t seem to be able to put it all together and become a positive impact player. Maybe for the MLE but that’s it to me. He has never really figured out how to play winning basketball.

Also in on Ntilikina. NY was better with him on the court than without him for his first three years and he had amazing 2 men lineup numbers with KP.
