Had a brain fart. Too many tabs open.

Sending out Powell means you are attaching an asset though.  That was my question.  Does a SRP get that done?
That Korkmaz deal is a steal imo.

I don't know much on Brown or Bullock.  Both look to be good size and can shoot.   Neither are probably top 7 guys and maybe deeper than that.  But hopefully much more useful then Iwundu, Jackson and Burke.
good point

If you assume we find a taker for Willie and Toronto will take Powell (my long held assumption as that was the only way to do Lowry and THJ when we were in the running for Lowry), then what is left to decide is whether $14mm and the rMLE is better or worse than TPE and Full MLE.  Seems to me those are the roster building opportunities if you assume a trade matched deal for Dragic.
Dragic for Powell plus

Brown for BAE, Bullock S&T

TPE for Markkanen

MLE for OPj or Oladipo
The Mavs better hope the class all failed their test too.  We need a big @ss curve.
At the moment Mavs have 15 players under contract

But instead of paying Dragic 19 million, you are paying Powell 11 million and Toronto would be a good guess to be one of the teams that might have interest in Powell anyway.  He's a great rebuild guy if you are going for that...culture, hard worker, vet...
Shams said Portis turned down potential deals with Mavs and Heat.

You are paying Powell 11 million for two years though.  Dragic is expiring.  If I don't get a positive asset from Dallas, I'm not taking salary back beyond this year.
At this point Mavs beefed up 3-D guys. We still need a big wing (PF) and secondary facilitator. Will be crowded at 1-2 if we really trade for Dragic so I wonder who will be out.
Dude, read the whole post.  You completely didn't read or discounted that which could be very likely.

Yes, those are still two big holes.  Would love a very good creator that can play well in a spaced floor.    A bigger guy who can do some damage inside in a spread court will also help.
