I wonder if a 3 team trade can be done.

SAC: Powell
TOR: Holmes+Burke
DAL: Dragic

I totally read your money drying up thing backwards, apologies.

I was thinking about that. With Toronto sending compensation to Sacramento

IMO we are missing a starting 3 or 4 still. I think that's the next move. Oubre would fit then. I think the other guys were pure depth moves.
There is still NO. I kind of doubt they would be satisfied with Sato for Ball. I think there will be more to that

More likely Dallas. Holmes is the most valuable asset. Dragic is expiring. Burke and Powell have negative value and two years remaining.

Toronto needs to move Dragic if they want Holmes. I doubt Sacramento takes him. The alternative for them is to pay OKC (if they are interested)

Wes Iwundu career 3pt%:  28.6% on  1.1 attempts per game

Kind of a massive difference to me there.

The thing is Iwundu was a career 35% shooter when we signed him on a small sample.  He has since shit the bed.  Brown was also a career 35% shooter (on small sample) before he went crazy last year (on a small sample).  They both headed in completely different directions but the sample is not big enough to be sure what Brown is.  My guess is he goes back to being an average 3% shooter.  That is probably worth more than Iwundu, but I think people need to be careful reading too much into a single small sample season.

RFA complicates because they can tie up cap space while they decide to match the tender.  Lakers also leaked they'd match any offer for THT earlier today.

I started this train in the pre-season and I'm not jumping off.  Dude is going to be good in this league for another decade+.
Not impressed with the Mavs moves today.  The team sorely lacks starting talent. Should have gone all in after someone like Lonzo. Even someone like THT would have been bettting on potential. Instead they decided to play safe. Nothing against the guys they did get:resign.

Both teams need front court help and Powell (while flawed) can still score at an elite rate. His 11M is a good chunk, but if you're SAC would you rather pay Holmes 16M or Powell 11M?

I don't think the Mavs need to send as much compensation as you think.

I just put myself in Lonzo's shoes and I wouldn't want to come to Dallas.  Going somewhere I can have the ball in my hands more increases the potential of my future earnings.  I really never saw him as a possibility.  Would have been nice though.

I just don't ever see him being good at basketball.  He is what he is, an athletic poor shooting poor defensive wing.

I used career 3pt% for a reason. Brown has had 1 year below 35% from 3 and it was last year. Iwundu has only 1 year ABOVE 35% in his entire career from 3.

Sure we can blame it on small sample theatre. Over 4 years I think Brown has made it quite obvious he's in another class of shooters compared to Iwundu.

I liked his potential with the Wizards but I've really soured on him after his time with the Suns and Warriors.

Not disagreeing. Usually I am one of those guys who wants the team to be realistic and safe in FA. However other than Luka we don’t have a legit starter.  That is a serious issue. I would have liked them to chase aome windmills this time with the backup option of going big on THT. I know he is a RFA.   Should have taken some chances.
