Don't think we have the salary matching or assets for Collins. Hield does not make much sense after THJ. Holmes does not make much sense unless we strip several centers. Lauri would be a wild disappointment.

Maybe smoke, but Lakers said they'd match any offer. They could also hold our cap space hostage for the duration of the tender.
Just lock up some role players and let's get ready for training camp

I would do Nance or Bagley in the TPE, Dragic deal if possible (Powell and WCS or Burke out in whatever combination of teams involved), than a big wing for MLE

If I'm Mavs, I am looking at Dragic (somehow). Probably an over-cap trade for Dragic, with Powell and pieces outgoing.
But preceded by a cap room deal or a different swap -- there are differing paths to Collins, Holmes, Batum, Danny Green, all of whom interest me. And none of those paths would keep the Mavs from being able to get Dragic.
In any event, I see Dragic AND some other very useful player being possible, perhaps likely.

We have more than enough salary matching for a Collins trade. Holmes makes sense because of his fit with Luka I don't care about the other centers on the roster. Hield is an elite 3pt shooter but I agree would be the lowest priority right now.

I like your optimism. I don't currently share it. I'm ready to start drinking heavily.
