So they’re definitely looking at a S&T for Ball instead of using space. https://twitter.com/bobbymarks42/status/...39108?s=21

If they aren´t an option I would move on and go after guys in the MLE range (Caruso, THT, Marrkanen, Theis...).
Would try all of that before I even think about Dragic.

Duncan Robinson seems like a perfect fit next to Luka.

To be clear, I think I said that MOVE would be a solid, passing C.

If, as you say, it's the ONLY significant move made, I would not give the OFF-SEASON a C. Lots of other things that can happen, imo. Maybe Powell goes out in a different deal, even.

I just like Dragic MORE than Dinwiddie or Schroder (but less than Lowry) and I believe the Mavericks are hell-bent on adding a PG (not even intending to debate that part - just going with it).

But, is he available?

The point I am obviously making is that a good run in the bubble is not a particularly good argument (unless you are trying to convince yourself).  Dragic was not good last year and is old.  He is showing all the signs of falling off the cliff.  His performance last year was not worth an MLE, let alone his current contract and its hard to project improvement at his age.
Got the booze ready for the disappointment known as Mavs Free Agency

Oh, just that.  Cool

Could it be possible Lowry was all a smoke screen and Mavs are still in play for their #1 target?

Me too, pal!

It just feels like folks had their hopes up pretty high (I flirted with some high hopes myself when VP started spinning tales about Kawhi and card games) and this isn't even a good free agent class!

It COULD be a lot worse than Dragic! That's all I'm saying.

I thought it was odd that I was reading his name. Maybe I got the wrong Robinson  Sad

I'm scared to post this, especially without knowing numbers, and I'm sure this will be even more proof the sky is falling for some, but...I feel relief.
Sounds like we’re essentially running it back…
Dragic + THJ makes for an awful defensive background - that’s for sure.

If our offseason is running it back with Dragic as our big get, I will have lost all hope.  All that does is accentuate how incredibly stupid we were not to pull that trigger two years ago when he actually had some tread left on the tires.  We would be running out KP/DFS/Luka/THJ/Dragic.  That team has no chance of being even average defensively.

"Good in the bubble" was just an argument that he's been good recently, which coupled with the fact that the's been good for his career, makes the comparison to Burke meaningless. Also, His 20/21 wasn't far off the pace of his 19/20, and wasn't a "falling off a cliff". Lastly, the hope is that he meets a need, specifically, secondary playmaking and vet leadership, which is especially important for the Mavs in fourth quarter.

I don't think anyone would argue that Dragic at this stage of his career is a marquee get. It's just one move that fills a need and still, based on reports and speculation, still leaves room for more moves.

Now, if Collins is actually available, THAT would change my opinion of some things we're hearing.

I don't think he's a perfect solution to anything, but I DO believe he's a "young, foundational piece you could put next to Luka."
