They don't have MLE for Bullock in that case. He uses cap. Unless of course they expand to SnT with Knicks with Powell or something

Yep. You're too quick to catch my mistakes. Tried to delete before anyone noticed lol.

That would be a fun diagram to study ten years from now.

And you replied too quickly, because I added something Smile It could be possible, if Mavs SnT for Bullock by sending Powell or something similar
So we have a 26% chance to be involved in the "big trade".  100% chance to be underwhelmed by our part. Smile

Not that Powell-for RB would be doable or feasible. Getting Bullock should be fairly easy to turn into a TPE rather than MLE deal. But a Bullock salary match (especially to get the Mavs to $15M in cap room) would be both complicated and quite undesirable for NY's purposes.

Which leaves us back where this started - the idea that Mavs have $15M in cap space is incredibly fake news.

Wow what??? Why would GSW give up one of their better bench guys for a measly 2nd rounder??

The only reason that comes to mind is that they needed a roster spot to sign Iggy, but I don't think their front office is that short sighted are they?
It feels like the back-up plan for Dragic is Dennis Schröder. I could be wrong, but there’s enough familiarity and at the likely price, it makes sense. Kidd (and St. Jean) coached him in LA, Maxi surely knows him from the national team, and Hardaway played with him in Atlanta. I don’t think he’s as bad as he showed near the end of his time with the Lakers.

Interesting and maybe a very astute call. I LOVE the player....the locker room presence scares the crap out of me.

Feel exactly the same. It seemed like things went well in OKC, with CP3 around.

The roster already being at 15 (16 with Hinton’s 2-way) and there being 5 centers on the roster does seem to suggest that there has to be an outgoing player at some point. Not sure how’s that work with bringing in Schröder. I can see it with a Dragic trade and then there would likely be another opening or 2 to fill. Not sure with Dennis.

I get that they're over the tax line but that does not scream a win-now move.

I read a few places that Dirk seemed to be out on this guy (this was seasons ago), because there were chances to get him while Dirk was still playing.  That tells me a lot, if true.

I’ve seen that speculated too. No idea if it is true. I also remember Marc Stein saying (on a podcast) that the Mavs were interested in Dennis before he signed his big extension with Atlanta in 2016.
