Okay, not thrilled but "extremely excited".

"Webster also noted that there was no pushback from the new Raptors, telling reporters Dragic and Achiuwa are both "extremely excited" about joining the team."
2021 Summer Trade Season probably deserves it's own thread ...

I think the biggest names - Lillard and Beal - are unlikely to be moved but there are some interesting second fiddles / All Stars and high-end starters who could be ...

Simmons. Morey is doing the right thing by asking for the moon but it's a tremendous risk to bring him back. As of now, there's hope that he'll improve his shot and mentality over the summer. But if he opens the season in Philly and looks like the same player (offensively) his value is going to tank more than ever.

Siakam. A lot of smoke here. Maybe some in the locker room too.

Porzingis. It's funny how quickly many folks here turned on KP. The Luka + KP pick & roll was among the best in the league and KP had his best year offensively. But the injuries, defensive issues and reported malcontent are real. There's also the eye test. It just doesn't seem like Luka + KP mesh.

McCollum. A top 10 shooting guard + Lillard gives Portland one of the best backcourts in the NBA but would they be better off pairing Dame with more talent in the front court?

Turner. Defensive player of the Year candidate has been rumored to be on the move several years in a row. Does Carlisle think he can make it work with Sabonis?

Hield. Not an All Star but he's a starter on big money. Can shoot the lights out, like THJ on steroids.

Bojan Bogdanovich & Joe Ingles. Utah is looking to take the next step and both are rumored to be available.

Probably some others ... who am I missing?

Cleveland with Sexton. Sure they would love to dump Love but I don't think there will be takers, I think there will be a buyout. There was a rumor they would like to trade Osman and Nance for expiring salary (Mavs, please use the TPE!)

Houston would certainly love to move their vets (Gordon, Augustin, House) for draft compensation, but not really good value to be had.

Same as Houston Orlando will probably also move their vets (Harris, Ross) for the right price.

Portland has to do something. Will they move McCollum or can they do stuff with Jones/Covington/Nurkic contracts?

I am almost certain Sacramento will move Bagley.

Indiana is probably looking for some savings and they don't need Lamb (Mavs please use the TPE!)

I think Derrick White could be on the move for the right price.

I know this doesn’t mean anything it was probably just some troll that changed it but maybe it’s a sign of things to come.

Magic signed Robin Lopez and Mo Wagner on top of offering Carter Jr. an extension. They also have Isaac and Okeke at PF. At SG they have Suggs and Hampton, so you can add Mo Bamba + Terrence Ross + Gary Harris to the list.

"Dallas, New Orleans, Boston, and Minnesota have all shown interest in signing Markkanen to deals worth around $15 million in average annual value, sources said, but the Bulls are seeking a first-round pick in exchange for helping facilitate the transaction."

Thanks for this. I guess as far as assets are considered meeting in the middle would benefit everyone involved.

Perhaps more importantly, Chicago doesn't want salary back. So a third team needs to be involved and this will certainly take time.
Is it really not worth sending a SRP to Lakers and take him into our TE?

I am affraid we will slowly need to admit that dumping JRich was a mistake. His contract would be much more useful in any discussions to get someone like Dragic or Markkanen than Powell contract is.

I have never been a big Schroeder fan, but at this point I would be willing to take chances.  Especially if we are not talking about a contract with a lot of years.   I assume the Mavs will continue their game of chicken with Toronto though.

I was trying to figure out how many TPE's turn into something of value.   I believe most never turn into anything valuable, but I have not been able to confirm my thoughts.  Maybe I am wrong.  But keeping an almost 11 million TPE does not seem very valuable and if you can find something for it now, please jump on it.   Otherwise, I am pretty certain we will probably be talking about our TPE that expired.

Which would mean that dumping JRich for air was a mistake

I actually think that he wouldn't have opted in without the trade to Boston. I think the Mavs just did him a favor.
Great to hear that we’re actually interested in Markkanen for a market value type of deal. Hopefully they can work things out with Chicago.

Do you think Markannen is worth a FRP to Chi and whatever the third team would require?

My takeaway was that Markannen is going to be a Bull next year.

A long shot PG option could be Vasilije Micic from Serbia.    He won the Euroleague MVP last year and is a good sized guard 6'6.   His rights are currently owned by OKC but he will never play for them.   He could be interested in playing with a team that he prefers.    Probably will not happen and who knows what OKC would ask for, but just a name to keep in the back of your head.
I am posting this without knowing the dollar figures or having the Front Office math skills and creativity to know if he would even be possible...

But...did anyone see Joe Ingles in the Olympics vs Slovenia?  I saw two timeouts in a row where Joe Ingles took command of the huddle after timeouts and was coaching the 'Strayan's up.  This was late game when things were really spicy too.

Seems like he could be that vet leader so many on here say we need.

Does he have major weaknesses in his game?  Why is Utah willing to move on?

1) JR might not have opted in to just to be traded wherever the Mavs wanted.

2) There is zero chance any of us can know if his contract "would be much more useful." The Mavs may have scoured the league looking for takers of JR (as Jake Fischer hinted at weeks ago) and found basically no interest. BOS may have been the only interest. It is possible that DP is more valued (or just as valued) as a player as JR.

All speculation. We don't know. And criticizing the Mavs in areas where we have such great ignorance is off base IMO.

That would be too much for me. I also don’t think CHI will ultimately end up getting a 1st. Seems too pricey considering that he clearly wants out and with the poor fit between him & Vooch in mind.

I think CHI either accepts a lesser offer around 2nds and/or former draftees in a SnT or this escalates and he signs the QO. Then he could get leverage back and threaten to walk in 12 months so they’re probably willing to come down with their price tag.

Gotta give it to Chicago, they are doing this the right way. Sucks for the player obviously but the solution for him is the QO if he wants out.
