Going back to Brunson, I feel like we haven't talked enough about the Knicks missing out on the PG targets. Only guys left are Reggie Jackson and Schroeder and it seems doubtful they have enough money for them. The Brunson-for-Robinson idea doesn't make as much sense right now since the Mavs currently have a million centers on the roster, but if we get Dragic, maybe we can get our 2023 pick back?

Dallas get Dragic
Raptors get Favors, get TPEs and save a lot of money.
OKC get WCS, Burke Mavs 2025 2nd + Baynes Raptors 2nd.

Cuban gets to keep Powell as well!!!!!!

Don't think that is close to legal as it takes a bit over $14.4 million in traded salary just to take on Dragic and there is no way to do it with the proposed pieces in say... the next 61 days.

I do think there is some negotiation with Green. Dallas might be obliged to move Green, but they aren't just giving him away.
IT looks like Nico is positioning to we are taking on the extra salary and you are getting the younger player in Green - what is in this for us?
We'll wait...

Works on Trade NBA site but the trade sites are bit screwy at the moment with all the unofficial signings.

Could swap Burke for Powell and break Cuban’s heart ❤️
Simplify it to

Dallas get Dragic
Raptors get Favors and a $9-10milTPE
OKC get Powell, WCS and Dallas 2025 2nd
IF OKC will give up Favors for a 2nd... send them Burke and and Brown in 60 days (58)

The cost of adding OKC to any deal is probably a 1st in '25https://memegenerator.net/img/instances/...d-mkay.jpg
I don’t think swapping Favors for Powell costs a 1st, just a second.
It actually helps OKC trade for a worse contract to get more assets later.
How about going back to Collins, who is still in a standoff with Atlanta. If Toronto wants KP, we can expand the Dragic deal and they don't need to take Powell either.

TORONTO RECEIVES
KP

ATLANTA RECEIVES
Boucher, Maxi

DALLAS RECEIVES
Collins, Dragic

Mavs follow up with a trade of Brunson to NY for Robinson.

Luka / Dragic / Terry
THJ / Bullock
DFS / Brown / Green
Collins / Bey
Robinson / WCS / Powell / Brown

Would still want to trade one of our Cs for a PF I think.
Bey is gone, he is playing for the Bulls in Summer League
Now that no one else can out bid them I think the Hawks won’t be that interested in trading Collins.
They can just wait for Collins to accept their offer.
I had heard Lowry and Butler knew each other but didn't realize they were such close friends.  Gotta wonder what the heck the Mavs were thinking competing with Miami for Lowry

https://heatnation.com/videos/jimmy-butl...godfather/

Buter has said publicly that he’s very good friends with Lowry, and when asked by Lindsay Czarniak who his favorite player to go against is, he gave some very personal insight.
Quote:“Probably Kyle Lowry,” said Butler. “Just because he’s one of my absolute best friends. He’s the godfather of my daughter. As competitive as it is, we’re always laughing, we’re always joking around. I would say something else, but then the NBA is gonna look at this and be like, ‘Oh my god, he’s tampering.'”

I think Brunson needs to return someone back for the rotation.  I don't hate the idea of getting the pick back but I'd rather get Robinson back and a tip and maybe that tip is as simple as lifting the protections on the 2023 pick and maybe a SRP.  Robinson with all of his issues would probably be the best pure 5 in our rotation.  It would also solve the "we love our depth" problem if we need to send out big men in the Dragic trade.

Love me some Fred Sanford. Smile
So one of my favorite players ever is still available.  We have a need at PF.  I know he's old, but Paul Millsap anyone?
Happy to get Milsap if he is the 4th or 5th big in the rotation

Can the Nuggets S&T him into our TPE?
I would love Millsap with the Mavs. is it possible?

And I for one have never suggested or believed that Stein is "on the outside looking in" (maybe a couple posters on here have suggested that, but not me). Stein to me is obviously still "tier 1" as I said earlier and obviously still connected to the Mavs.

All I am trying to parse through is what changes in that dynamic now that the Mavs have new leadership and how that leadership will USE Stein. I think all reporters get used to a certain extent, so nothing against Stein, but I am curious if he will be fed certain agendas that the Mavs want public that may be only half-truths, etc. I.e. I wonder if Nico will be more savvy than Donnie in how he uses reporters and public media types, including Stein. For example, "Hey Stein push this narrative for us about our FA pursuits and we will make sure you are the first to know about some of our new signings." That kind of thing is a win-win, Stein gets to be first on some stuff that builds his cred and the Mavs get a certain half-truth narrative in the public for the sake of creating a certain perception about their intentions with other teams and agents.
Wow Leonard has not resigned with the clippers yet something is up with that situation.  If I remember correctly Porzingis gave the Knicks 4 trade options with his trade request years ago.  I think the clippers was one of them.  If there is the slightest chance this guy wants to leave LA we need to jump on that.  NICO its your time to shine.  If the Knicks are our only true competition we are in a good place.  Even after this horrible playoff run KP is still more of an asset than anybody on the NY roster so we have the upper hand.  Luka needs to pick up the phone I hate that the Olympics is going on right now! If he really has a disdain for KP he needs to get in Leonard's ear ASAP!

LUKA - (DRAGIC?) - Brunson
THJ - BULLOCK
KAWAHI
MAXI - DFS
WCS - MOSES

Easily in the WCF next year
Kawhi isn't playing next year, but rehabbing his torn ACL, but that would be a great step back 7-8 seed next year... Leap forward the following year.

I also don't think Moses is your backup automatically.  I think you guys are overvaluing the shiny new toy.
