Not even big enough to reach above the rim in case the ball is stuck above the backboard. Boban has multiple jobs. Part time locker room glue guy. Part time janitor. What is Burke doing?

There should be a warning for fans who log into this site, and check this thread before they encounter the horror show that is Trey Burke and his above vet-min contract for multiple years.

That was a Rick Carlisle move, 100%. Same with Dwight Powell.

I understood the Burke signing when they made it. I agree that it didn't work out as I had hoped, for whatever reason. I'm obviously ok with moving him.

I would rather have him on my team than Boban, because I think there's a CHANCE of getting something out of him. The deal is ridiculous, and I'm sure they can move him anytime they want.

I´m thinking you can convince a team to take his 6/2 contract in the TPE move, especially if you throw some money behind it.

TPE + Burke + $4M for Nance Jr. + non-guaranteed contract. Shouldn´t be that difficult.

But not more annoying problems.

Not us!  Great news.
Well, I'm out of here. I got all the good news I needed to see today.

Lowry is likely off the table, franchise saving move. No J-Rich, Mavs already looking improved for next season and beyond.

If they can somehow take out the rest of the trash in Powell/Burke, I just might talk myself into a WCF appearance next year.

Remember, Mavs Up!

Was stupid then, is stupid now. They FIRED him in December, because he was not good enough at his job, RE-HIRED him on a short-term loan contract because they had a lot of illness to the regular staff and he was familiar with the team. Based on his performance over four weeks against your previous evaluation of his talent, not only do you offer him his job back, but you also give him a three year contract and a pay-raise. At best you offer him another entry level contract for a year.

In a "normal" job, you´d get fired for such incoherent decision-making. Oh wait, Donnie did get fired.

And, with all due respect, ...

The statement "If Lowry thing to Miami is true, Mavs have once again showed that they are not players" is a big crock of bullshit.
Miami took the guy we wanted at least three times. LeBron 2010, Lowry 2021, Whiteside 201?

Conley had the option to come here twice and declined. Melo wanted no part of DAL. Neither did Dwight Howard or Deron when it mattered.

The list is nearly endless. We have a full decade of failed FA attempts. We’re just not a premier destination for that teambuilding avenue and it’s fine. You just gotta make adjustments at some point.

Heck I have never been to the US and Texas/DAL probably isn’t even in my top 10 of places I’d want to visit for vacation when I come over for the first/second/third time.

But YES, on one level I HATE the idea of having Boban take the spot of a rookie....but I also know that locker room chemistry can be the difference between 1st round exit and a championship.

Make Boban a coach then.  Executive Director of Being an Unusually Tall and Extraordinarily Nice Guy

True, and THEN, in the playoffs, he provided the team with something literally nobody else has given them since (or before, actually).

Turns out it wasn't sustainable, but I can understand taking a flyer, especially at such a bargain basement deal. It's not something we should be in a twist about. They can move him anytime they want.

Boban is a big guy if he's going to eat up a roster spot.  Two guys with who get little burn is a problem.
