Perhaps everyone should take a step back and realize that intent and tone aren't communicated very well on message boards. 

I remember once I got threatened to get suspended back on fish's site because I was trying to be funny and act angry and do the whole "I SAID GOOD DAY!" bit from That 70s show ha. 

I don't think anyone is trying to to start fights or offend anyone.

Intriguing part about Hart is that he averaged 8 rebounds in 29 minutes last season. If the Mavs want to go with the Luka, 3 wings and one big approach another wing that crashes the board wouldn´t hurt.

FWIW, I think the idea that Stein has supposedly lost his Mavs sources is fake news. Instead, the supposed "problem" imo is an unrealistic expectation of what he might know, and why.

On Mav moves, Stein was consistently ahead this summer. When they got something done, he was the guy that knew it first. When they were close, he knew it first. But during the competitive negotiating, before a deal was done, he didn't know how they would do, because the Mavs could only convey their intent and their perception.

So Stein reported over and over that the Mavs were intent on getting Lowry. He was not wrong. His sources on the Mavs told him they wanted Lowry and thought they would be able to get him. THOSE SOURCES - not Stein - were the ones who misread what was unfolding and the Mavs' chances.

In the meantime, Woj and Shams were talking to people in other places. To Lowry's agent? Or maybe to the MIA front office? Whoever it was, those perceptions proved more accurate as to the outcome. But again, all they could report was what those SOURCES - who turned out to have a better feel - thought about the situation.

Was he though? Wasn't he behind on the JRich trade? 

Can you remind me of what he was first on this summer? I genuinely am struggling to remember something he was first on.

Is it possible his Mavs sources have changed though? Is it possible that his sources are no longer at the very top level of the organization and maybe a tier down? That is what some of us speculated and mused.

I don't know if he beat Fischer on much actual breaking news (I'm with you on that guy now - I'm a believer). 

But, someone posted all the Shams, Woj and other A-lister stuff above, and their wording seems to indicate that they confidently viewed the Mavs as a main Lowry suitor, though there were disagreements on how seriously they were being taken. To me, this supports @"F Gump"'s interpretation, and tbh, even if they were just running with Stein's overt suggestions, the fact that THEY would treat his stuff like Mavs gospel (still) should tell us all we need to know. 

I don't think the fact that Donnie has left the building can take down the bridge that a guy like Stein has spent his career building. I bet he's got Cuban, Keith Grant, Al Whitley, Casey Smith and God knows who else's number in his phone.
