Luka played one of the most dominant games I've seen. Almost every possession he commanded ended with the perfect play.

He was a pest defensively, racking up block after block. He rebounded tenaciously. He was whipping behind the back passes off of picks like that's how it's supposed to be done.

And that's before mentioning how unstoppable he was on offense. He got EVERY look he wanted and nailed them all. Just amazing. Slovenija for gold!!!!!

AND he was +34....team was -16 when he sat.

DOMINANT.
All I know is there's zero excuses for not being able to build a team that can win a playoff series around Luka
I'm certainly far from an expert, but it looked like ARG was trying to get into Luka's body to restrict his movement as he crossed mid-court. Obviously, it didn't work too well, but there were times he looked frustrated, but mostly it was smaller defenders. I wonder if that sort of pissed him off and really got him going.

Also, I was surprised to see Scola still playing and being somewhat effective. He hated getting switched on to Luka though and tried to avoid it if possible. Seems like that caused some defensive chaos at times.

Anybody know how Spain and Japan stack up vs Argentina?
Spain should be much stronger, but also play "dinosaur" centers with the Gasol brothers.
Japan is the worst team in the group (on paper).

That thought had occurred to me.
Wouldn't that be a hoot? Slovenia with less than 80% of the population of Dallas County and a land area 10% smaller than New Jersey makes it to the medal rounds.

They already have two of the best athletes in the world in Doncic and Pogacar. This small but great country is making a lot of investment in sports and they are getting the rewards.

I think Luka with blow up dolls for GM and coach would STILL lead his team to greatness.
