Listened to Bill Simmons 4 part podcast on the TDL recapping everything that happened. He got Rob Mahoney on to talk about the Mavs trade and he said that (and I'm paraphrasing), that a charity approached KP in September prior to this season starting to do one of those promotions where every time he gets a block he donates like $500 to some charity. 

KP declined because he said he didn't think he'd be there all season. SO I don't think either party thought this was going to remain a long term thing.

I don't think it's a surprise Luka's best stretches come in Feb before the all-star break. Basically 4 months to play himself into shape after coming in to the season out of shape.

You know what else is roughly 3-4 months after the all-star break and a period of time Luka looks otherworldly? NBA playoffs.

This is the best Luka has ever played. The most impressive is his ability to adapt to new schemes. You can see his growing experience in the NBA and to know what to do in certain situations.

And the guy is just about to turn TWENTY THREE!!!

He is unreal. He has exceeded all of my expectations and then some. The bar is set so high that we get slightly annoyed he stat chased after he put up 45 points in 3 quarters.

Luka: Sure. I mean if this is good for the team, I'm supportive. (snarky snicker)
MBT: We think there will be some challenges. The guys we are getting back aren't all stars by any stretch. 
Luka: Understood. We'll make it work somehow. (rubbing hands together)
MBT: Our biggest concern is making up those 19 points per game KP averaged. The offense can't take that kind of hit and be effective.
