To quote MacMahon on Luka:

"Luka is very good at admitting it, but not very good at addressing it."
I really think we need to sit Luka until that knee is right. We are playing a dangerous game right now.

He's got some growing up to do, that's for sure.
Quote:Doncic's weight and conditioning were a frequent subject on the TNT broadcast of the Mavs' 102-99 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night. Analyst Reggie Miller, a Hall of Fame shooting guard, criticized Doncic, saying he was "plodding up and down the court" and "has got to trim down."

"People are going to talk about it, yes or no," said Doncic, who had 28 points, six rebounds and nine assists in the loss. "I know I've got to do better."

Sources told ESPN that Doncic reported to training camp weighing more than 260 pounds for the second consecutive year.

"I had a long summer," said Doncic, who joined the Slovenian national team's training camp days after Dallas was eliminated from the playoffs, leading the program to a fourth-place finish in its first Olympics bid. "I had the Olympics, took three weeks off, and I relaxed a little bit. Maybe too much. I've just got to get back on track."

At the same time Reggie Miller was super impressed by Luka able to bully everyone with that extra weight. Nobody could match his size and strength in the paint, and that gave us the real advantage and why we were upfront in this game. The only thing that could help was doubling and hoping our players would miss the shots outside - which they did!

It is a positive in many instances that he has extra weight. Luka played a fantastic game. He was the best player on that court next to Durant and its not even close. Lets give him credit here and identify the real reasons for why the team is not winning.

This game was over, if not for the terrible shooting on all those open looks, and great positions under the paint that were not coverted. And you can point on so many games this season in the same way.

YES to giving him credit! He deserves it.

As far as talking about all the reasons the team isn't winning, there are lots of threads that discuss the roster, the coaching, the performance of the other players. Make sure to check those out too!

I know, I know, I know, Skip Bayless and all but Shannon is a massive Luka fan.

That was a WHOLE lotta truth. Great conversation with lots of great points, honestly.

BEST LINES:

"You cannot exercise a bad diet."

"The worst thing you can have is someone having success while doing something bad." (because it reinforces bad habits that will later come to bite you)

"He is going to have nagging injuries because of the extra weight." (ALREADY HAPPENING)

Mkay. But you don't want to build a franchise on out-stating the emperor of toxic triple doubles.
Yet another superstar all around performance. When the team is shooting the open looks at least at a mediocre level, as the 36% from 3pt this game, the Mavs will win many of the games. He showed leadership on both ends and again set up his teammates in position to win, and the team executed and took advantage. If the team actually starts shooting well closer to the 40%, this team will win most of the games.

I just want to point out that I noticed and loved Luka coaching Moses Brown through the game. On more than one occasion I saw Luka tell Moses how to set a better screen, gave advice on better positioning on the defensive end, and applauded him when he hustled.

LOVE that. Great stuff from Luka.

Except that Luka's aren't toxic!
Just a funny thing happened to me today, and I thought I would share it with you.
I was at my grandmas in the afternoon helping to chop some wood. Sports news comes up, they talk about Memphis game and my grandma goes:"Look at him, hes fat as a pig!" "Who?" Says I, "Dončič!", goes my grandma. Shes 88 years old mind you.
So its not only USA, even Slovenian grandmas think Luka is fat. True story.
