Just going a little back to Dragic. Imagine he wins Finals MVP, this would top not picking Giannis in the draft. Miami offered Mavs the future MVP in cap space and they said, no thank you. Smile

Top 4 player in the league.  Not bad for a euro 21 yr old.

Yeah, no it doesn't, even if that hypothetical happened. Dragic is literally in a perfect situation in Miami where he can be the primary ball handler, and play alongside very good defensive players that help hide his defensive weaknesses. None of which he would get in Dallas. It's not like Dragic is the difference between the Mavs losing in the first round and say going to the NBA finals.

Yeah, it does. There is absolutely no guarantee Giannis would become Giannis with Mavs, yet everyone is pointing that draft mistake out.

On this team, with this coach and the complete lack of young talent we had? With Donnie in absolute support of him? Ridiculous statement. Also Giannis becoming Giannis was like 90% Giannis, 10% coaching and opportunity. His athletical ability, talent, work ethic and determination drove him to becoming the player he is. Maybe he only becomes 90% of what he is, but that's still a superstar.

Exactly. Milwaukee was a dumpster fire team totalling 15 and 30 wins in first two Giannis seasons and they could afford to give extremely raw Giannis very heavy minutes. Dallas on the other hand was desperately trying to compete. I doubt Giannis would see nearly comparable minutes.

Then this team has even bigger problem than drafting wrong.
Also, even Cuban and Donnie admits that it wss huge mistake. It isn't like it fans are irrationally complaining
Hindsight = 20:20

As was said earlier, Giannis was a talent, but a raw talent his first two seasons. It's just in the last three years has he started playing at an All Star level.

The same was DAL ended up with Shane Larkin and a future ATL 2nd round pick instead of Olynyk (or potentially Giannis). THAT'S something to complain about.

Next year when KP and Luka are allstars they will only be beaten by the LA duo.
James Harden anyone?  Westbrick is on the list.

Harden is the leader in jersey sales among strippers...

and the Luka friendly refs...
I guess we get to write a letter to the league now and say how unfair the refs are treating Luka?

I just think every time Luka complains about a foul, one should be called. Smile   The face of the league and all that.
Crazy that we have the next generational face of the league. It's only a matter of time that he takes over Giannis role.

Then Giannis will join the Mavs and all will be great.
