You know who I didn’t see come off the bench to congratulate Luka?

Also funny to see Brad Stevens 6-7 feet onto the court waiving at his defenders (captured better in other shots).  Did he want them to triple team Luka?

I looked for that as well but he could have been busy, sitting in his chair.

Fixing his mask.

I was gonna ask if players can step on the court with COVID protocols in place, but then I remembered Smart hugged Luka.
Luka is now shooting 38.4% on threes over the last 20 games.

34.9% for the season.

After that horrible start, I'll take 34.9%. Let's get that up to at least the 37% spot this year! We're not even half way there!

Stop. He is too good already. If he becomes 40% shooter from 3pt its over.

Maybe, but I want to see that ending.

29 Coaches and 29 GMs would be crying in their pillows...
We are not worthy

I was looking for that too. But if you look at the broadcast replay, it seems KP isn't even on the bench. Or is way off to the side near the locker room exit. Perhaps he was getting treatment or something?

Nice catch

KP was standing way back towards the tunnel when the last shot went up. You can see him here in gray street clothes behind Boban. Even if he didn't come running, it appears to me he put his hand on his head in disbelief.

In any case, I agree that it's unfair to immediately rush to judge KP based on limited camera angles of what he did or did not do immediately after Luka made that shot. Maybe he was getting early treatment in the locker room and came out just in time to see the ending. Maybe he waited until the game was over to personally talk it up with Luka. He definitely did NOT react negatively like we've seen before with disgruntled guys.

TLDR -- cut the guy some slack and don't invent narratives without more info.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Now for some more uplifting things: Here is why we can never trade boban.

From the Athletic rating of young players. Luka was the only Tier 1 player

+++

TIER ONE: PLAYERS WHO COULD BE THE BEST PLAYER ON A TITLE TEAM RIGHT NOW UNDER THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES

1. Luka Doncic | 6-8 guard, 21 years old | Dallas Mavericks | Contract: 2 years, $18.2 million, restricted in 2022 | PR: 1

Improved shot selection and 3 point percentages...
Finish the defense improvement and the sky's the limit...
I think people who believe Luka is going to leave the Mavs bc things aren't going great in year 3 need to calm down a little bit. Did LeBron expect the Cavs to be a contender in his third year?

With a rookie max deal you basically have 7-8 years to figure out how to build a winner. So like to me if Mavs have to "take a step back" moving from KP to Wiseman who is still a couple of years away from coming into his own that is doable. Mavs can still put plenty of win now players around Luka.

Not to say Mavs want a bunch of rookies but for that player in particular a deal could make sense.

Totally. The Mavs are in year 3 of an 8 year project. Yes, it would be better to get there sooner, but the absolute must is to be a contender when Luka's real free agency happens. I'm not saying they shouldn't try to be good quickly, but if impatience causes them to paint themselves into a corner (which they allllllllmost have) that will have negative repercussions beyond having underwhelming seasons in years 3 and 4.
