Yeah, they're the only ones I kinda feel bad for since even before the draft, like 80% of them have been consistent they wanted Doncic so bad and were demoralized when it didn't happen.  I've been reading Sactownroyalty for the last year or so.

Suns and Hawks fans pretending like Ayton and Trae are better.
Clutchfans.net the rockets community has 4 living threads about Luka right now.
The Hawks will regret that trade the rest of their existence. It becomes more clear every game how insanely good Luka is. Trae is a really good player, but not anywhere near Luka talent wise.

66% of their fans think Luka is a better player than Harden when he was young and would build a team around Doncic instead...

You would have to be an idiot to think otherwise. The numbers are CLEARLY in Luka's favor.

Not sure why this would be controversial. The guy is 20 and averaging 30 ppg. You basically take him over anyone. I imagine the hostility is rooted mostly in jealousy over what the Mavs have been able to build after Dirk, along with the well established victim mentality that has plagued this fan base for several years now.

Wow!
Last four games 37/12/8 in 31 minutes. Good lord. Blush

Well done Magic, for writing Lukas name correctly. Lots of mistakes from many people around at the moment (Luke etc.) and also saying his name wrong as well.

Athletic enough for me...

Feels like his critics haven't really watched him.

Especially when you think about the differences in sport systems. One Europe they don't do real strength training before the age of 18. Thus bodies develop later.
One thing really annoys me regards to people that don't acknowledge how special Luka is, and here it is. One common argument is this : "But he has already been playing professionally since 13 in Europe, that's the main reason". People tend to use this argument as his celling is not higher than now etc. Like this is some sort of unfair advantage Luka has over everyone else, that will somehow equal out later.... This is so wrong.

No, that's not the reason. There are millions of teenagers in Europe that never get to play at that level and never get a contract, yet alone for Real. Population wise Europe is something comparable to US and basketball is very popular in most countries. No other teenager so young in Europe have won the Finals MVP. And also Euro championship for their country. Its unprecedented what he has done and achieved, in the history of basketball in Europe. Many Europeans come into NBA every single year and since a long time now, and they didn't achieve nearly the same things when they were that young. Not because they didn't wanted and tried. Simply because they did not have that unique talent as Lukas.

So no, its not because he played since so young professionally that he is so great now. It's completely the other way around : He played so young with the pros, because of his unique talent and level of play, and others simply did not. He won the MVP in Europe, and the national championship with tiny Slovenia against all odds, because he is just that special. Others just don't do stuff like that. He is dominating now because of his skills, not because he started out earlier than others. He just has more and better skills in an earlier age than others, it's that simple. That he was able to do something like that so young is an accomplishment, not some sort of advantage.

An analogy would be saying that Mozart became such a famous composer only because he started composing from the age of 5. Well he did that because of his unique talent; other children at age 5 could not understand music and were just being normal children and didn't care at all about music.

Doc Rivers showing some love to Luka. He’s always respected Mavs greats like Dirk and now Luka. Probably will try to recruit Luka when his contract is up

Athletic enough for anybody, because he doesn't need high end athleticism to do what he is doing. If you're trying to impress Americans with a 6'7" guy's highlight reel, this is not it. How about 6'6" Michael Jordan? 6'6" Vince Carter? 6'7" Kawhi Leonard? 6'8" Paul George? 6'8" Scottie Pippen? 6'8" Tracy McGrady? The list could go on and on with guys around his height that have the athleticism that people think about when they say "Luka has little to no athleticism".

It's only a knock on him if you believe it hinders his game to not be that athletic (which is not the case at all). Not sure why you take up this crusade to prove he is on par with the athletic guys around the league. I've said it before, he doesn't have to be great at everything.
Luka is athletic, just not elite NBA athletic.

He is quick enough to get past similar or slower players and strong enough to punish smaller players.

But it is his bball IQ, confidence and patience that have allowed him to be this good so quickly.
As some have pointed out, he may not be run-and-jump/lateral quickness athletic, but his core strength is among the highest percentile among NBA players - the stopping on a dime, balance, body control driving to the hoop....

Edit: posted this before watching the above video. Yeah, what he said.

People in Europe lift weights way later than Americans. He has lots of room anyway.
