Well...the Mavs rise and fall with Luka.  This shows the danger of having no other really good, BIG shot creator/ball handler/floor general that can play or sub in when the primary player comes off the court.  Plus the supporting cast should be ashamed of themselves for stepping up (not!) when their star is hurt.

On another note...with one head butt, and possibly an elbow to the Luka's neck, Marcus Morris has done his job for the Clippers.  Morris definitely IS a dirty player.
Luka was an 80% free throw shooter in Europe. Do they use smaller balls?  Shorter distance between the line and the bucket?  Higher rims?  What’s changed?  I’m expecting him to shoot 85%.
Luka was on fire from the foul line tonight, going 2-3  Big Grin

He has single handedly led the Mavs to THREE wins against the Clips. Mavs would have been swept without Luka, easy. This is MJ level carrying of a team I haven't seen in a LONG time.
I am a homer, but here is a not so crazy prediction.
Dude will have 60 point playoff game in his career and I also think he will break NBA record for most 3pt made in a game. Its not so hard to visualize, once he puts a perfect game together few years down the line while sweeping 7/8th seed.
If you would say this to me even during his rookie season I would call you crazy. But now I am a believer too.

FIFY
For all the great Luka stuff, I hate the no pass offensive possessions and our offense execution late.  IE let Luka dribble and hope he makes something happen.

My question is do you think that is the way Carlisle wants to play?  Is it because we are limited outside of Luka?  or is this because this is how Luka wants to play?

I was hopeful we would see growth in this part of the game.    I don't believe it is the best way to win multiple playoff rounds.   I obviously don't want to run the triangle (have bad memories of that as a Mavs fan), but I thought it was beautiful with Jordan how the Bulls would move that ball around and cut and make defenders work, only to get to the ball to Jordan at his spots where he would do his thing.

I'm a homer also.  But...I don't think Luka is all about scoring a lot of points.  I think his strongest points are getting other players involved in the game.  He will just get better as he ages.  I've always been a believer, but he is exceeding my expectations so far.

Luka can score 60 once he gets the stamina and conditioning at peak levels.

I say "can" instead of "would" because of 2 things.
1. He is a scoring PG, but his instincts are more of Nash than of Westbrook. He will get his team mates involved. Specially if the Mavs get a true Number 2 option.
2. There will be games when he scores 40 in 3 quarters and he never has to go back in because it would already be a blow-out.

Of course there is the minor point that the Mavs would be sitting at home watching playoffs on TNT without Luka.
