Amongst NBA players with about 3 driving field goal attempts per game and 20 games played, Luka Doncic leads the entire league at a staggering 66% shooting on drives (last season he was below 50%).

Number two is Jalen Brunson at 62%.

Mavs have two of the best finishers in the league.
"I think it’s a little bit too much stats."

Really love how he's aware of his interactions with refs and knows he needs to get better. He couldn't have handled the post game interview questions better.

Players like Harden complain just as much or more, but I guess they have more leeway due to experience and "Superstar" status

Luka does need to settle down during plays, talking to the ref calmly during a stoppage is ok but making a scene during play is just going to piss them off and hurt the Mavs defense

With that game he is now at a 2.14 ratio.

He is currently #76 in the NBA in this stat.
Now at 2.01. Dropped to #91.

Are we living in a world where the famed Irish center Shaquille O'Neal doesn't exist?

Are we living in a world where the famed Irish center Shaquille O'Neal doesn't exist?

Irish Center Shaquille O'Neal stats at 20 years old:

23.4ppg/13.9rpg/1.9apg/0.7spg/3.5bpg/3.8TOV/4PF on 56%/0/59% from the field. His true shooting percentage was .584% and had 10.4 win shares. His box plus minus was 3.7

Luka on the other hand is currently at:

30.0ppg/9.8rpg/9.2apg/1.3spg/0.1bpg/4.6TOV/2.4 PF with a 47.6%/32%/81% line. Luka currently has a staggering .615% true shooting percentage. Has 4.7 winshares (this number goes up the more as the season continues. For comparison Luka ended his rookie year with 4.9 winshares.) And currently has the highest BPM of all time with 13.2.

Its tough to compare 2 players who play totally different positions and furthermore play nothing alike. Stats wise Luka fills the stat sheet more (but again Shaq was never asked to assist and they played in totally different areas), and every single advanced metric favors him. His advance stats are so much an outlier that they surpass Shaq's at age 21, and Lebrons, and Jordans. The season is still young. This only really matters if Luka sustains it, but right now statistically Luka is having the best season ever for a 20 year old.
Luka is moving up!!  Love that he’s ahead of Harden

How has both of ya'll careers in Spain helped you, that both have similar trajectories; and do ya'll consider yourself to be one
of the better duos in the NBA?

KP: Yes we both have had similar trajectories; both of us have played in ACB, Luka has played at the highest level in Europe and
that has helped him transition to the NBA. We have high expectations for us and we believe we can be a dangerous duo in the NBA
for the Future to come.

Luka: What he said. *Laughs*
Luka: What KP said; we can be a great duo, great Duos have a long time together, but we are doing things little by little and getting better.

Your impression in Mexico City and what do you expect out of the league in the next half after December?

Luka: The altitude affected me and i needed a couple minutes to get used to it since it was difficult, But we came to win and
we are hoping to keep going like this.

Reporter: You have converted into a phenomenon for the league; the people screamed every time you grabbed the ball, and in ya'lls case; both of you play very exciting and both seem like you have fun; that is hard to find in the league because of the pressure to show out;
Ya'll are winning and are having fun; how far do you think ya'll can get with this current play?

Luka: The truth is everyone that was here, the fans of mexico, they have done a tremendous job and the reception has been incredible
we have had a blast with this experience, and i like i said, i believe we can get far, our objective was the playoffs and its still the playoffs.

Reporter: For us who have followed your careers in Europe, we are not surprised by what ya'll are doing; however, for the NBA and the US media it seems very surprising, do you think they undervalue European basketball and that's why they are surprised?

KP: I think with every year that passes, the teams make less mistakes because of scouting the European players . . . What was
the question again i forgot?

*Everyone laughs*

KP: Please repeat your question *While both KP and Luka are LMAO'ing*

KP: Yeah, i think no one expected Luka to play like this, he's playing at the highest level and he should definitely be in the MVP convo.
I think its something new for the world because they have not seen 2 Europeans lead a team and that's why they are surprised.
But we are going to keep doing our thing.
Next person to claim Luka is leaving as soon as he can or try to find friction between Luka and KP should be subject to major tar and feathering... Big Grin
