Covid bunch couldn't get it done.
Still frustrated about throwing away what should have been a relatively easy win. Having a relatively easy 2nd half of the schedule doesn’t mean anything if we don’t take it seriously.

Just making the play-in games as 7-10 seed should not be an acceptable outcome for the season.I’m  fine with keeping guys fresh for the playoffs as long as we actually guarantee we get there, but this team is not good enough to rest Luka and KP on the same night. Maybe RC just needed to prove that to someone as they think about the trade deadline coming up.

Anyway, let’s take the upcoming Nuggets and Blazers games, and at least one of the Clippers and all will be forgiven.

Baffling how the coach publicly connects not playing the rookies to „trying to win“ when we have a bunch of veterans tumble over their feet every other game without repercussions in terms of diminished playing opportunities. Carlisle has a massive issue with double standards in that regard and that has been the case for years.

Also baffling how they didn’t trade those picks when there’s clearly no interest inside the organization to develop them. That’s just terrible asset management as always. These guys must have already lost a certain amount of their value around the league  and this will only get worse as they rack up more DNPs until the end of the year.

I‘m rooting for trades or cutting them loose. They’re all better off elsewhere.

Well at least that is something. You get the team's mouthpiece devoting a whole page in the paper to your obituary. At least now the rookies know they are dead. The article proves that you can/can't trust Townsend. He'll basically write what Cuban tells him. Also people that know they were right last night, don't order/purchase such an article.

Mavs local media is as team-friendly as it gets. They all saw what happened to Sefko/Price who were both laid off and found a home at mavs.com at an advanced stage of their lifes.

I don’t blame them one bit but you have to put the reporting into perspective Imo.
Asked whether he considered giving the rookies and sporadically used veterans more playing time, coach Rick Carlisle rubbed his right eye and paused.

“No,” he said..

Ain't that the truth. They have no fucking plan. If instead of Luka they were forced to draft the second best player in that draft, whether you think it's JJJ, Ayton or Young, we'd be last in the West and those are very good young players. If you have no intention to put any effort into developing the 18th pick or 31st pick, then trade them for Oladipo or roll them over into a shitty future 1st that gets you Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince a few months later.

Even the Athletic is extremely team-friendly

They write articles that mildly criticize the team but I rarely see them ask tough questions of anyone in the Mavs organization. So either they don't have access or they only have access if they keep the criticism mild
Not sure why everyone is surprised. Media has been like this mostly in every way. If you have the money/access you can literally control the narrative. Not sure why people think that inside info would be given out freely when we live in the Information Age. Gotta read between the lines and figure it out yourself. They know the rookies are years away if they make it
Are folks suggesting that Brad's article is a veiled admission from the Mavs that they did not succeed in this year's draft?

Wikipedia says there is a 30 year old Jokic playing in the 2nd division in Austria. I'd do it straight up for JJ. We learned that the footwork of these soccer players always translates well to basketball. Big Grin
