Time to get the popcorn out.

The Mavs will agree to a 4 year $57M deal with Spencer Dinwiddie coming off the ACL tear. Next they pursue Richaun Holmes who agrees to sign a 4 year $80M contract, until he is kidnapped by his Kings teammates and forced to back out.

Cuban is beside himself. Driving around downtown Sacramento begging (thru texts) Holmes' family for address to Richaun's home. Meanwhile, Donnie calls Dinwidde and increases the offer to $70M since he now has extra money that he doesn't know how to get rid of.
How is THJ a 20 million dollar player and Reggie Jackson is a vet min player? Something is wrong with these economics.

Because attitude...

Sample size and durability. Jackson is injury-prone. THJ never misses games. Jackson probably could not handle THJs volume/role  for a full season.
Not to mention that Reggie obviously will get a bigger contract. He was waived by the Pistons and the Clippers picked him up. His last "real" contract was in the THJ range. 5/80 against a lower cap.

I'm all for Allen, but the Cavs would be stupid not to retain him. He's really (given the problems with Sexton) all they have.

Pretty sure CLE matches all offers to Allen.
Agree, Allen is almost for sure staying in Cleveland. I’m sure the Mavs will pick up the phone just to make sure.

I would much prefer them "picking up the phone" to "signing a sheet that is sure to be matched and whiling away two days waiting to be kicked in the Allens."
Not holding out too much hope for Allen, but I'd LOVE him if they could find a way. Just saying.

It would be just like the Mavs to waste time on an offer sheet for Allen when the time to get him was last TDL.
