I know it got uncomfortable late in the game when WCS went to the line and missed the first FT. But I had to tell myself, he's never been there in that situation. The 2nd shot was big - Luka went there a minute later, and I expected no better.

At that point in the game we needed him to split to give us a 7 point lead, and that was huge... but I know we are going to need him to start knocking down both in those situations moving forward. He had 2 late/clutch splits that didn't cost us THIS game, but 50% clutch FT's from an MVP caliber player will catch a team more often than not -
It certainly hurt Denver when Joking repeatedly couldn't put 2 makes together.

Yeah, but KP will hit them, so it's only temporary.

Luka's 10-15 ft shooting was more concerning, imo, but it has been better this season, so far.

EDIT: Wait, you're actually talking about Luka, aren't you? Nevermind. I agree.
Shout out to whatever breathed life into Luka ankles late last night. If THAT Luka didnt show, we would have lost.

I think they´ll end up doing some sort of bubble again. Play the initial 36 games, add another 10-14 in a bubble then go to the play-offs.

How do you stop this otherwise? The games come so fast after one another that you cannot properly isolate or contact trace. So what the Mavs isolate three players. Are you telling me there are three Mavs players that had no contact with any other Mavs players or staff members? Maybe some even played against Denver.

We are beyond the point of successful containment in the NBA and society. Now it´s basically vaccines and the hope that it mutates into a less deadly strain.
The positive side to these things is that it will possibly force the rooks to get some burn and we can see more about what they are.
Thousands of athletes have had this by now with less than a percent of a percent having complications. It was bound to happen, but at least there is a vaccine out there. Aside from that, they are probably among the most unaffected.

We heard examples about their mothers and family members dying tough. In that way they get affected quiet a lot.
Not the first time and won't be the last time. This is probably going to be another lost season in the grand scheme of t hings...let's just get through this healthy, no major injuries, and hope 2021-22 is back to normal.
I don't understand all the alarmism about a player with covid. The season is not in jeopardy.

It's gonna happen here or there. Just like injuries happen here or there.

You keep them away from the team. You play without them for a while. You have 16 other players, far more than you need in a game. You do your best to win without them. Maybe they aren't even a key player. Then they come back.

100% agreed. its going to happen to every team. May as well happen early.
