On Porzingis at 4 or 5, Carlisle says staff has studied it all year and that by and large the Mavs are at their best when they play big lineups and in most of those scenarios Porzingis will play the 4.

Thank you Brad.  Shouldn't have been that hard to figure this out.  It was obvious a year ago.  Just needed everyone healthy.

YES. It was obvious a year ago. Square peg, round hole....something, something....that is trying to make KP a 5 right now.

Hey, he's still gotta play the 5 on defense. That's the worry, for me.

Don't get me wrong. If he accepts this whole spacing for Luka/Powell to run action thing, I'm 100% comfortable about that end of the floor working itself out. That's a step in the right direction.

Oh for sure.

I am 100% out on KP for...

1) Defensive slippage.

2) Poor efficiency and frequency in the pick and roll.

3) Unwillingness to let someone else be the pick and roll centerpiece.

IF he lets someone else be the pick and roll centerpiece and lets the O come to him, then I am only 80% out on him. Smile
Instead of praising KP in a blowout win where he played moderately well, we are still giving him shit lol

Bobby Boucher says his momma told him KP’s the devil! However, when he is on the bench, he gives out some high quality h2o!

With great salary comes great responsibility
I mean I certainly want KP to play well. My issue is, if he's better at the 4, would we not be better off just getting a shorter, cheaper stretch-4 who can give us 90% of spot-up KP on offense while actually playing most games and not being a liability on defense?

Dump on KP or admit they were wrong... Wink

You realize that the stance many of us hold isn't contingent on any one performance, right? And is rooted in questions of long term fit, right?

Absolutely. But what I've and many others have been echoing for 3 months is that you are beating it to death. KP had a pretty good game. You can't drop the "trade KP at all costs" bit for at least one night and say "hey he played good tonight I hope he continues moving forward"?

And the only reason why I say this is to temper your expectations when KP is still on the roster for next season.

Tbh, I have written things just like that in like three places since the game.

It's an interesting question for sure. Maxi is already that to extent, basically a 3D PF. For me if I could trade KP for a good/great playmaking SG I would be pretty interested (e.g. CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram level good). Not sure there will be a trade out there for that though.

50 games Porzingis or 70 games Bertans and $17 million in cap space? Which is better?

Markkanen
Hello, playoffs!

Dallas has come a long way this year. Time to turn it up and make some real noise.

50 games Porzingis thanks for asking.
