At the time of my post, and this one, they are worse. Period.

And some are okay with that - for some strange reason.

I bet they're WAY more butt hurt about it right now than anybody here. This is a huge, colossal, embarrassing failure for them.

They did this to themselves. Brunson has been treated as an asset and undervalued for YEARS. If anything, I am proud he stood up for himself and told Cuban to **** off.

Cuban deserves the downhill trajectory the Mavs will unfortunately find themselves in. He might escape the sexual assault/harassment scandals but he cannot escape this.

But the Mavs will not be playing ANY basketball at the time of your post and have a whole offseason before they do.

That's why some of us are not having a meltdown.

Further, it is spilled milk.  Got to move on.  Everyone knows the MBT fucked up, it's about the only thing they are consistently good at doing.

That has nothing to do with my original point, but you know that. And meltdown is a bit much.

That's pretty funny, even if I don't throw all the blame on DAL for this.

I would have been ok if the Mavs offered 125/5 and JB still refused. But from the reports we're receiving the Mavs low-balled JB. I'm not a big JB fan, but I can see now that the Mavs need a scoring, playmaking PG other than Luka and Din, so I was hoping the Mavs can keep JB although he isn't the ideal fit with Luka. Losing JB stings, but it stings most because the Mavs lost an asset they could have used in a trade.

But for the team getting worse? Not sure about it. Replace JB with Wood against Utah and Wood probably would have been scoring in the 30s without Luka. And I would think Wood could have made a better impact than JB against the Warriors.

As the team stands right now with Wood and Hardy coming in, and JB, Burke, Chris, Bobi and Sterling outgoing -- IMho, the Mavs aren't losing a step. They will be just a different team with a decrease in fire power at 1 and 2, but with a massive improvement in the 4 and 5.

That's the rub though. Shams said JB didn't even let them make an offer. He had probably made his mind up quite some time ago that he was going to NY no matter what. Sounds like idolized the team. I can't fault him for that.

If I were a player and had a chance to join the Mavs I would jump at it.

I agree with you that I don't think the Mavs miss a beat. If anything I think they are better positioned now with THJ coming back, Dinwiddie going through the offseason with them, and Wood up front. Wood had his way with GS last season when Houston played them.
