He's our CJ McCollum.  Get it done Donnie Nico.
Brunson is all worth it. With Luka and Brunson, we are guaranteed to be at least a playoff team each single season and have some if not the best guard tandem in the league. Bulding from that is the right call.
So Brunson bet on himself by turning down the February extension? Looks like he's going to come out a winner.

Remember the old MBT F'ed all this up with JB's initial contract terms that let him get to FA instead of RFA. An echo of how little Donnie and RC valued draft picks. So now...here we are.

IIRC, there was a lot of talk mid-season here (and the paid pundits) with the tone of "JB is looking good now, but is he any good in the playoffs due to his size/athleticism?" Although he proved valuable in either bench or starting roles. (Go back and look at some of @"Kammrath" posts about on/off performances) Still, there was resistance to shelling out $$$ if he wasn't playable in the post-season. This was all pre-KP trade.

I'd say he has answered that question very well so far. IF When DAL finishes UTA the next step will be NOP or PHX, both of which look to be good challenges right now. If JB stays effective in the next round, win or lose, then he's going to get seriously paid.

The last one from pandahank41 is a pure masterpiece that you couldn't stage any better. Somebody should frame it for him.

Thanks for sharing.
But wait - Brunson isn't playoff playable. Right?

RC didn't seem to think so. He played JB 20, 17, 21, 18, 10, 14, and 10 minutes respectively in the seven games last year.

Josh Green has played 18, 16, and 14 mins in the last three. So JG has played more minutes in the last three playoff games than JB did in his last three last year.

But to your point (what I think is your point anyway), JB has absolutely proven either RC wrong OR has grown up immensely in the last year. JB is absolutely playoff worthy now, and possibly someone you can lean on like a star in the playoffs.

Add a pinch of "luck" that Luka got hurt.  He didn't need to worry about fitting in alongside Luka.  Kidd could just give him the keys and tell him to do his thing.
Wonder who will have a coaching vacancy and cap room this summer.

I think he got even more lucky that he ran into probably the worst perimeter defense in the playoffs.  Really interested to see what he does against somebody like the Suns.

I was all ready to defend you Kam and heap blame on Carlisle. Till I read this. Possibly?

Two amazing games in the playoffs is GREAT....but I would still like to see him against better perimeter defenders. UTA is that bad on the perimeter.

Is there a stat for how often a player gets blocked while driving to the basket?  I'd be curious to see Jalen's evolution these last few years.

This to me smells like the doc to LA rumors are true and Philly just brings in the hometown hero…

Still wouldn't be a bad play for a team that really wants Jalen.
Google "Utah Jazz Owner" and you get this... LOL

Jalen hitting those Dirk fades gives me such joy. He really is a combination of Nash and Dirk, with a hint of CP3/Deron Williams.

Pay the man Cubes.
