Guys like Brown and Buddy (or their agents for that matter) are well aware that they are getting a max next summer when they are going to be some of the only notable names on the market. Makes sense for them to hold out if they are focused primarily on $$$ as opposed to being part of a competitive team where funding is distributed more evenly.

With another season like last year Hield could be considered as max guy. Brown is not even close.
I'd love a trade for Buddy, but I feel like the Kings would rather max him before trading him for spare parts.

Assuming he demands a trade, his price would probably be too high for Dallas - or putting it differently, other teams would be willing to pay more than Dallas even have. Best we could do would be Brunson + very distant 1st pick. I guess they wouldn't be interested in taking Jackson back.

On a funny side: we can trade them THJ and Jackson for that horrible Barnes contract and Hield :-)
Rondo got 11% of the GM vote for best head coach someday. Imagine Rick and Rondo in a coaching duel. Hahahahahahahahahhs

If the Kings hypothetically offered me that trade I'd be so conflicted on accepting it. Barnes is a solid role player, albeit a bit inefficient, but when he was here he took so many opportunities away from Luka that I'd try everything to avoid again. Even SAC got worse when he arrived there. But then again you get Buddy!

The thing is, Buddy is probably going to demand a trade to a place that's willing to give him a max contract. That's the only reason why he's forcing his way out of Sacramento currently. I'm sure the list of NBA teams that can out price the Mavs on a Buddy sweepstakes is quite long, but of those teams that can out price the Mavs, how many have the trade capital to beat out the Mavs AND be willing/able to give a max contract on top of it? I doubt that list is as long.

Mind you I think there is NO way the Kings give Buddy a 5 year/170 million contract, and I doubt any team in the league would give him anything close to that especially after the hit the cap just took after the China controversy. I guess the 3 questions I'd be asking if I was in Donnie's office are what is Buddy's actual worth? What does Buddy want/think he's worth? And how much is too much for the Kings?

Hield is a restricted free agent, so the Kings can just sit back and relax and wait until the summer to see the real competition (if there is any), that is if Buddy doesn't decide to sit out and force the Kings hands.

I'd love Buddy on a 4/97 million contract, but I'm sure the Kings do too.

So it begins..

That is sad for Pelican fans.  So much hype and the season is nearly here and then...deflated.

At what point does their medical staff get the blame? AD had some incredible weird injuries during his tenure.

Yep....I think he is going to struggle to stay healthy....too unnaturally explosive.

Pretty sure Griffin change the whole medical staff when came in as GM.

The man is a monster, but I think it would be a miracle if his knees sustained his body weight and explosivenes in a long term.
Really hope Zion's knee issue isn't serious. He seems like an insanely fun player for the Pels and the entire league. I'm rooting for him.

Also, the Buddy Hield-situation is suuuper interesting. 6'5, terrific shooter, SG, about to be in his prime. He'd fit perfectly here as an offball nr 3 scoring option behind Luka and KP doing the heavy lifting. The spacing we could create and size we'd have on the court would be special.

Shams newest article says the Rockets are not going to trade for AI...
Yep, it begins. Too much weight on those Knees - he'll end up having a D-Rose type career just cause of the weight of them things lol

And they said the Pelican's would make the Playoffs. Nah, give me the Mavs over the other pretenders: Sac, NO, SA, Minn.
The Sacramento Kings have already begun to express some remorse over the four-year, $88 million deal they signed Harrison Barnes to this offseason, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Warriors cut Alfonzo McKinnie and keep Marquise Chriss.  I'm  sure he'll get picked up, he's a decent bench player.
