I think this haven't been posted yet. The question about 2020/21 cap is not if it will be above last season value. The question is if it can stay at this level by players taking the cut (higher percent of escrow).

I feel sorry for Nets fans with those two idiots on the block. This will not end well...

Good lord, Kyrie Irving is that rare kind of idiot who's so stupid that he's able to convince himself and some others that he's a genius.

Best handles in the game, maybe, but I'm sooooooooo glad that guy isn't a Maverick.
Durant will be the alpha on that team.

Clippers proved that a "bad" locker room may hinder the overall talent, so Durant needs to keep an eye on his little flat earth buddy.

Like he saved Clippers? If I am Clippers, combination of LaVert, Dinwiddie and (if they can also get him) Allen would be very intriguing. You get the playmaker you were missing, 3 young players you already have locked (LeVert) or will be able to lock long term. Still, I would only do it if George really is a locker room bomb. But it is clear something was not working - they were not a team.

 That would be high-way robbery.
Denver Post is reporting Jerami Grant will be pursued by the Hawks, Pistons and Suns.  Paywall or I would link to it.

Just guessing, but are those basically the only teams with cap room?

Can you IMAGINE coughing up the treasure trove of ammo the Clipps had to spend to bring in George, only to have to turn around and move him for pennies on the dollar after one season???

I don't think they'll do that, but if things are bad enough in the locker room, I guess it's possible. I almost feel sorry for them.

"Those three teams are the Atlanta Hawks, the Phoenix Suns and the Detroit Pistons. Only a handful of teams will have cap space, including those three. It’s always possible a team like Orlando makes a trade and create the requisite space to go after Grant.
For the Hawks, whose core is centered in their backcourt, Grant would offer a versatile wing who can play the three, four or sometimes five.
The Suns have ties to Grant in that head coach Monty Williams is familiar with Oklahoma City. He was an associate head coach there the season before Grant arrived.

Finally, new Pistons GM Troy Weaver was a former Syracuse assistant coach before becoming a longtime executive in Oklahoma City, where Grant was traded from last offseason. Grant was a second-round pick out of Syracuse in the 2014 draft."
Probably more likely they clear out all the guys who don't like the dude, but even that is pretty rough.

Nope. You also have NY and Miami. Miami is likely not interested in signing anyone long term. If that is true, Denver will have to pay a lot to keep Grant. And I don't really think they can afford to let him go. Unless they go into SnT with Phoenix (Oubre) for example.

I guess this probably means bye bye Millsap. I feel like they'll want to work MPJ in as a starter at some point soon. Although, I kind of think all there of those guys (Grant, Millsap and MPJ) overlap a bit. I'm not sure any of them is ideal for the 3 or smaller wing role. Maybe they don't care.

I don't think LeVert, Dinwiddie and Allen would come any cheaper (combined) than George, if Clippers would be trading for them. I think Nets would be losing this trade. LeVert is star in the making, Dinwiddie is the PG Clippers were missing and Allen solidifies center position, making Harrel expendable. They also save money.

Ok, I'm not saying they can't make a good trade involving George. I think that's possible. But if you consider what LA traded to GET him, man...I just couldn't swallow it.

I am sure Milsap will get a very low offer from Denver, assuming the tax line is the limit for them. Unless of course they let Grant walk. But Denver will have a problem with the starting 5 once Barton returns from injury. You can't pay (for example) Grant 15 per and bench him. I guess Barton would be the odd man out being relegated to 6th man position. If I was them, I would aggresively try to upgrade Harris. He tries hard, but he is really getting worse on offense every season. I am not confident anymore that change of scenery would help him.

PG 13 trade rule. Whoever is on the other end wins. Big Grin
Doc in Philly. WOW!

This league is so crazy.

Harris is still an impact player on defense. Really not sure what happened to his shot though and it´s been so long that, as you say, it´s hard to be confident a change of scenery would help. He´d perfect next to Luka to be honest, if he was able to regain his shooting touch. I think he shot above 50% on corner threes in the first few years, way above league average.

This league is so crazy.

I would have predicted that almost immediately after he was fired.

Also let´s remember how Doc forced his way out of Boston, so maybe this split wasn´t as one-sided as reported.

Btw Curry is Doc´s father in law, so let´s load up on our Richardson trade scenarios. Maybe we can exploit Doc/Brand/Rookie owners. Not exactly the strongest front office set-up. Wright+Curry for Richardson+21.
