I've grown to loath all things Rockets .... but I have to admit, I did really like the Morey interview on the Book of Basketball 2.0 podcast.
West battle is really getting intense!

No, not for first.  I’m talking the Tank battle!  There are 8 teams fighting for that coveted last place.  Barring a setback it appears GS is winning.  But the rest are in a dogfight.  Just outside this skirmish is TWolves, who can join in or fight for lower seed playoff.

I will say, GS should be looked into for intentionally tanking.  Rest are trying to win but suck at it.
LOL.  When two meme-worthy events collide exposing both the ineptitude of the refs and the spoiled entitlement of certain teams and players:

https://twitter.com/espn_macmahon/status...0129462272

"Rockets' hope is that final 7:50 will be replayed with Houston up by 15 points. Rockets have no expectation that NBA would award them a win based on Houston actually outscoring Spurs in regulation, which was a possibility raised by a Rockets source in wake of the loss."

From Houston Chronicle:

"Having been told time expired to challenge on Tuesday, the Rockets will file their appeal on Thursday within the 48 hours required to protest," Feigen wrote. "Both teams have up to five days to provide relevant evidence. Commissioner Adam Silver has up to five days after receiving that evidence to issue a ruling."
Raptors fan tonight.

I don't know what's going on here...  He was getting heckled by a fan during the last game and barked back.  Maybe he is tired of the criticism about his style of play and is protesting by not shooting?  This has to be a low amount of usage for Harden in YEARS in a half.  Wow.  And it isn't like he is racking up assists either.  Trying the team game?  Being a decoy?

The game is on NBA TV so I had to go turn it on and watch it to see what was going on.  It is surreal.  Harden is getting the ball from out of bounds, walking it up, passing it to someone, then backing up to center court (with toronto player staying in his lap) and just standing there.  This game is being played 4v4 with the Rockets on offense.

That's different.

After watching for a bit, it appears that they have been aggressively double teaming him and they just decided to go 4v4.  I think when we played Tor, they tried throwing the double teams at Luka as well.  Let's just say he didn't sit back at the half court line.  Wow.
Well, that crazy game plan worked out for HOU.  Tor successfully took the ball out of Harden's hands for most of the game.  A couple of the Rocketts stepped up and they won the game with the Beard not really distributing, or creating shots.  It was a strange game.  I thought that for sure that Russ would shoot them out of the game, but somehow, they pulled it out.

On that note, Russ has really turned into the worst shooter in the league.  Like EPIC bad.  WTH.  For a team like HOU that focuses on efficiency, how is it possible that they keep allowing him to chuck aimlessly night after night.  How did he get THIS bad?  He is a combined 14-57 the last two games, including 1-12 from 3.  Why hasn't Coach Dan given him the bright red light - at least from 3?  He should focus on D, pushing the ball on the break, penetrating into the lane to distribute or finish at the rim.  This can't be in any model that Morey has cooked up, right?

Speaking of inefficiency, time to go check out what the Cowboys have been up to while I watched that weird Hou/Tor game.
Off topic, Overrated Cowboys getting their lunch money taken by the Bears, 24-7 late in the 3rd qtr. SMDH.... Maybe they get back in it, but I don't trust they will....

McLemore and House came up big for Houston. McLemore made 8 3's and had 28 pts. House had 16 off the bench. Houston shot 22-55 from 3. Toronto was 12-39. Toronto's game plan worked vs Harden to a extent, Harden just scored 23, but Toronto shot poorly and had 22 TO's.

David Fizdale on suicide watch. Knicks got smoked, 129-92 by the Nuggets.

Only the Knicks would fire a coach in a tanking year for not winning enough...

I've seen fans of a team I like (love actually) that wanted to fire the coach (a very good one) during tanking years.

#Facts. Somebody has to be the "Fall Guy"  Dolan won't accept responsibility.
I just want to see Robinson get some more run.  Dude is amazing.  Part of it is his issue with foul trouble, but even when he doesn't have issues, he is still getting inconsistent minutes.  It is crazy the rotations the Knicks have on that rebuilding squad. 3 pillars of their youth movement are getting 20 min or less (Robinson/knox/DSJ).

I actually don't know if he would be fired for losing or for not winning AND not developing the young guys.  WTH are the Knicks benefiting from playing Taj?  He is not in the future plans.  If I were Mills, I would have a sit down with the coach and basically direct him to start playing the young guys.  Or resign.  Or be fired for with cause for insubordination.  It is a such a cluster there.  I actually haven't seen anything from Fiz that makes me think that it is any big issue to let him go.  I could be argued that Mem should have been more patient with him, but his teams don't really improve.  They don't even play hard.  Somehow, they beat us twice though... so he has that.
The Knicks make the Cowboys look competent. No use killing brain cell wondering why the Knicks do what they do.

You must be talking about Jason Garrett and the Cowboys. Yes I too saw those posts.

I don't think it worked. Perhaps it was bad luck, because someone like McLemore made 8 threes. Harden scored "only" 23, but he was super efficient. He was actually the player he should be, not the 50 shots per night stat pad.

Win Win situation - Dallas wins the last couple of games, they are in the playoffs, lose and Garrett is gone.  The staff needs a shake up more than a truncated playoff run.  Trying to stay positive after watching that team waste a year where the NFC East is pathetic.

Thank goodness for Doncic and the Mavs to distract from that sports dumpster fire.
