Mavs exposed the Clippers and the Nuggets have the talent and depth to make them pay. If we were able to constantly come back from big Clippers leads with Luka + all the bit players, the Nuggets are able to do it easily too. Clippers are in big trouble!
20-21 - $41,254,920
21-22 - $44,310,840
22-23 - $47,366,760
Kawhi getting shutdown and he looks tired. Clippers might be done in this series, the Nuggets are younger and more athletic
Clippers showing again what they showed against Dallas. They lack killer instinct, to finish the opponent off when he is on the floor. Had them in game 5 and sort of in game 6, but allowed the opponent to come back. And once you come back from a deficit like that, you are unstoppable.

Denver proving they have a very good and young team. They all play tough defense and they just controlled the boards.
Can we officially end this talk of needing "tough guys" on the roster? Gimme players who can actually play on both sides of the floor instead of these so-called enforcers. Who cares if they aren't bullies. How many enforcers do the Nuggets have?

Beverley, Morris, and Harrell have done absolutely nothing in these last 2 games the Clippers have choked. But they're so tough and physical!!
I'm stunned.

Something is wrong in that Clippers locker room. Leonard and Zubac are literally the only people who play hard.

I do think it would be nice to have a Morris-like guy on the team to defend Luka so that KP doesn't need to pickup technical fouls but I mostly agree with your point.

Millsap is playing that role and he was crucial in game 5. And you can't say Bev, Morris or Harrell are not contributing, if they had a couple of bad games. Out of those, only Harrell has been mostly bad through whole playoffs.

Bev is averaging 5 points in this series on poor 3-pt shooting %. And he fouled out after 2 pts today in 18 minutes! Morris and Harrell have been awful in 2 straight games with the chance to eliminate Denver. What could/should have been a 5 game series is now resulting in 2 extra games for them and they may not even survive. I bring up those 3 guys specifically because they openly tout their "toughness" and have the reputation but it seems all fake to me. It reminds me of Tim Thomas trying to get in Dirk's head, blowing him a kiss in 2006 and then getting torched by Dirk for the rest of the series.

Millsap is a good vet for a team like Denver to have. The Mavs will be fine as they get more experience and if they can bring in a few guys with more experience like that in the rotation, that will be good. However, I think people saying that we're not tough enough is overblown. Upgrade the talent + get more experience and then the toughness aspect will come naturally.

Wall is just signalling his excitement for wearing Rockets red when Houston realizes that he's the best big-name player they can get for Westbrook.

After Westbrook's performance in the playoffs, I'm not so sure that Wall isn't an upgrade.

I wonder how much COVID and the injury impacted Westbrooks performances, when his game relies so much on his physicality. I did not care to watch a minute of that Lakers/Rockets series, but I read the Lakers doubled Harden a lot and zoned up on Westbrook and D´Antoni had no answer for either. Though to be fair, those were some really unexpected tactical moves. Confused Big Grin Big Grin

I think D´Antoni truly is a gimmick coach that has been found out a bit too often given the elite talent he had on some of these play-off teams. Also what the hell is he supposed to do for Philly? His style does not suit their team at all. Huh

Yeah, I don't get it either.
The team that could be perfect for him is Hawks, though they are not looking for new coach.
But he can do good job for Trae and their young core

Well to be honest, Philly style didn't suit them at all, so a change of style might help Smile They can also start trading away all defensive players and focus on offense

Other than that I agree, I never really thought D'Antoni style of play can lead to championships. He did come close a couple of times, though

Watching Westbrook shoot was just painful.  He really needs to re-invent himself. He lacks confidence when he's Robin instead of Batman.

But Embiid in a high-powered fast offense? They might as well load up on courtside oxygen tanks, ACL surgeons and back therapists. Not exactly the Horford and Harris type of game either.
