Quote:The league predicted that its television network partners may want to renegotiate their lucrative NBA contracts should Christmas games be skipped this season. Under either restart date, the NBA would reduce travel between arenas by 25% to minimize COVID-19 risk, and there would be a six-day All-Star Break. Also, a play-in tournament for the seventh through tenth seeds in both conferences would transpire.

Both the league and the NBPA are targeting a $109MM salary cap and a $132MM luxury tax. The two sides differ when it comes to how they feel the cap and tax should evolve beyond the 2020/21 season, however. The NBA would like to keep a flat tax and cap over the next few years, while the NBPA would prefer an annual increase, sources tell Charania.

If the NBA were to opt for the 72-game season kicking off on December 22, there would be 14 back-to-back games per team. The regular season would conclude around May 16, and the NBA Finals would finish at the end of July.
Now this is a RUMOR!

Wow. For a moment let's imagine this is true. Dude just came off undefeated in the bubble, with lots of optimism, and he still wants out?? I suspect if the Suns falter out of the gate, Book is posturing to leave.

From a Dallas perspective, Book is arguably better than Beal. No way PHX trades Book to Dallas, but one can dream right? He's a guy I'd trade any first round pick out till 2028 to get. As pure of a scorer as it gets and is largely marred by poor shot selection with no structure in PHX. I think Carlisle could get the most out of him. But again, no way PHX gifts him to Dallas.

Overall, I think the rumor is bogus. Can't see Booker staking a fire of leaving after their bubble performance. But who knows? Maybe 5 losing seasons is enough to want out.
I have no trouble believing that he “wants out” because nobody wants to play in PHX right now. They’re just one of those organizations right now where nobody wants to be. The owner has made a bunch of political mistakes, they’re really cheap, etc, etc.

But there’s a big difference between Booker or any other Suns player and Anthony Davis..  I’m sure Barnes, Hield and Fox all want out of Sacramento deep down, but it’s not like any player can just throw his weight around and get his way. If they could we’d have absolute chaos in the league.
18% seems super light for a season with no fans.  Wow.  Players are getting a sweet deal here!

I think it is 18 % over three years, but still, nice. Although I agree with their logic - despite huge loss of income, teams value didn't really drop and owners can still sell the team for huge money. So owners didn't really suffer. I think the danger for the league is here - if value of the teams starts dropping, owners will stop spending which will lead to less attractive product and further reduction of team and league value. They have to keep the value of the product, or everyone will be making huge losses (including players) in the long term.

Good! This means that all of the offseason stuff will be resolved real darn quick.

Woo-hoo! Hope the MBT is ready...
They really should have moved up the draft, having it happen tomorrow would be ideal.
So we have this rumor, plus the tweet from a few days ago:

Now, maybe this is true - we'll find out very soon, if so. But maybe this is the Bucks trying to put a little pressure on the dude to sign, and if so, I think that's a teeeerrrrrrrible mistake on their part.

Where do you see pressure?
