Boston completly out of it early in the game. Stevens and Smart look like they want to smack Brown and Tatum.
Man, Miami is so much better than this when Crowder's 3's are dropping. I feel like he almost never missed an open one in the first two rounds, and now he can't buy one.
Daniel Theis is the perfect cheap big for the modern NBA. Can protect the rim but also defend the perimeter. Maxi is a better shooter but Theis is just playing a little bit bigger in the paint. Basically combines the biggest strengths of Kleber and Powell in one player.

Part of me wants to agree, because I don't think anything you said is incorrect.

Part of me expects Kleber to be much better next year, with the experience he gained this season.

Agree. I am a big Maxi fan. He is without a doubt the best defender on the roster. Just needs to be moved to his natural role as a small ball big instead of being asked to guard perimeter players all game long. He also needs to improve his consistency. He had absolutely incredible games this season vs Zion or Siakam. I think he blocked Zion 5 times in the same game. Problem is that he also had some really mediocre games. Especially on offense.

Go, Celtics!

I think the Heat have a better chance against LeDicknose, but I don't dislike the Celtics as much.

I like the Heat way more than I like the Celtics.

We haven't had a Mavs/Celtics rivalry, but in terms of NBA history Boston is way more "evil empire" than Miami. Plus, I'm already getting sick of having to argue with people about Luka vs. Tatum, and the longer Boston goes in these playoffs the more of that crap is going to be out there.

And isn't the REAL hope centered around the Lakers not winning it? Doesn't that result do the most good for the most people?

I have mad respect for the Russell Celtics and Bird Celtics. The only reason I don't really like them now is that dang Danny "Do-Not-Trade-With-Any-More-Than-You-Should-Google-Fournier" Ainge. Agree that the Tatum-over-Luka malarky is tiresome.

Agree. And people shouldn´t forget that RC was part of the "evil empire" in the 80s. Even won a championship with them. It´s interesting to see how many former players of the 80s Celtics have or had GM or coaching jobs in the NBA. Ainge is still running the show in Boston. RC coaching in Dallas (Detroit/Indiana).  McHale coached the Rockets and TWolves. Bird was both coach and GM in Indiana.

Bird seems to have a really high opinion of RC. RC was his assistant in Indiana from 97-00. In 2003 Bird was named president of bball operations in Indiana. He immediately hired RC as the headcoach. Last example would be Bird being a part of Dirks farewell celebrations in Dallas.

To sum it up. Boston and Dallas have some strong ties. Heat are still the Pat Riley show. I like most of the players on the Heat roster but I am sore loser and will never get over the 2006 finals. Let´s go Celtics.

Yeah, I get all this. I don't disagree. I'm just saying, if Dallas would've been good enough to get past the Lakers back in the day and play those Celtics teams, there'd probably be a lot of Celtics hate being passed down from generation to generation in Dallas.

For me, the LA Lakers are the one, constant enemy. I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns, especially now that Lebron James is there. I respect his game, but there's just something about him that makes me insane with sports anger.

My Miami sports hatred was based solely on Lebron, Wade and Bosh. Never had a problem with Riley, really. I know he was 100% Laker back in the day, and if I was a little older I might see him through that lens. All I see now is a really smart guy who knows how to win. I think their current team is VERY likable, even on top of them being good. I think they're just good dudes who play hard. Even if they got Giannis, which I think is very possible, I don't think I'd hate them.

I don't really hate the current Celtics, but if I'm honest I think Tatum, Brown and Smart are all a little on the entitled/cocky side for my taste. Something about Theis rubs me the wrong way, too. It's all perspective though, because half of the world probably thinks the same about Luka right now, with all of his complaining to the refs, so I guess this is a situation where everyone's opinion is valid.

Hopefully, we can all get behind the idea that the Lakers NEED to lose the finals, yes????

If Dallas was in the East during that time that they couldn't get past the Lakers, it would've been the same story for the Celtics. Those were just the 2 juggernauts that no one was beating in that era.

So glad your LeBron opinion is exactly the same as mine.

No miracle today. LeBron looked like his Miami self today. No way to stop him when he cannot miss from midrange.
I didn't start watching basketball until 1991. So I never saw the Lakers and Mavs series of the 80s. The only time I saw them meet in the playoffs, the Mavs swept them in a quite embarrassing fashion. So I've never really viewed them as negatively as I did other Mavs rivals in the era like the Spurs and Heat. That said, go Lakers, get my guy Rondo ring #2 and AD ring #1. And Kidd another ring as assistant coach.

Those regular season games during the Nelson era didn't bother you? You know, when Shaq averaged like 15 dunks per?

What else is there to do in Minnesota other than drink, smoke weed and fish?
Interesting chess move by Spoelstra, made in game 4 (I think). Through the first two rounds, he was staying with like a 9-10 man rotation, which as we know is unusual. Olynyk, Nunn and especially Iggy have looked BAD in most of those games.

As Boston makes some adjustments to get back into the series, Spo shortens his rotation up. He simply cuts Nunn out, which was predictable, but opts to move Iggy to backup center in place of Olynyk. I haven't really looked at the numbers, but I can't say I thought it was successful enough that I thought he'd stick with it. Yet, here we are, second or third game in a row, with Iggy playing minutes at the 5.

Neither of these teams seems particularly interested in defense right now. That has not been the case for Miami in these playoffs until very recently. This does not bode well for them against LA.
Iggy getting with it!  5-5 on threes.
