It's just that we are probably not willing to pay a bunch of good role players and Philly would have nothing to do with Powell and Wright types. The only way I could see it would be if Philly traded with OKC for CP3 and we get in as a third team.
Utah looks dangerous, even without Bogdanovic. But Murray is hotter than fish grease. Denver needs this one.

Props to those guys around here who were clamoring for the Mavs to draft Donovan a few years ago.

Scott were you one of those?

Can't say that I was. He was my choice presuming that DSJ was off the board, which, unfortunately, he wasn't.

Hey! I mean if the Mavs draft Donovan, they aren't bad enough to lose games and they wouldn't be in a position to draft Luka. And I'd much rather have Luka over Donovan (but he ain't bad either!)

AND the Mavs don't fleece the Knicks to get KP.

True... "Don't care, got Luka and KP."

My point wasn't "revisionist" history, just that it is fun to see how good some folks are at arm chair scouting. Some lay folks really have an eye for NBA talent.
Kamm, I'd say on this board is a s good a crapshot as in any FO. Talent and potential evaluation is probably the most difficult thing in all sports... you need to get lucky most of the time because there are so many things factoring in. Also, you never know what would have been if talent x wound up in lace y instead of z.

I was actually super high on Donovan Mitchell, and actually wanted the Mavs to draft him over DSJ. After that, I thought I might be one of those people that had an eye for talent, but then for the Luka draft I was high on Bagley, so... Maybe good enough to be part of the kings front office?

I remember a VERY vocal group for DSJ and then I also remember a smaller group that was REALLY high on Donovan even though he never got high in the mock drafts.

We have ALL had our hits and misses, but I do feel like this board tends to collectively do better than a lot of front offices.

For whatever reason my hits have been most successful on Euro players. I really nailed Gobert, Kristaps, and Luka as examples of the recent past (though I seem to have missed on Frank Ntilikina). But I have struggled with evaluating college players for whatever reason. Trae Young I thought would be a total bust....along with Michael Porter....and D'Angelo Russell as examples.
I said Luka was a generational talent while saying Trae and Bagley were busts...

2 out of 3 ain't bad...
The Rox are stupid not playing with any centers. Any team that has players that can penetrate can get to the basket without interferance.

Same problem they had last year. Same problem that is impacting Maxis offense.
Tucker and RoCo are exhausted because they have to bang with Steven Adams for 30 minutes every game. Even the Warriors only played small ball lineups for 15-20 minutes. They always had a big bruiser to do some of the dirty work (Bogut, Pachulia).
I like the Pacer uniforms.

Haha. I remember being SUPER high on Bam Adebayo and wanted the Mavs to try and nab a 2nd pick to grab him by any means necessary.

I was also just as high on Thomas Robinson. So I'm right there with ya bud.

Cool

Pop should just retire with the Spurs, him going to NYC could really damage his legacy akin to Phil Jackson's time as Knicks GM.

I mean, can you imagine him handling Kyrie's increasing crazyness coupled with KD's fragile ego?! That would be a sh#tshow of epic media proportions...

I want to say that hotrod Beabouis was really high on Mitchell at the time but I can’t remember for sure. Is he still around? He was an excellent poster.
