They're all out with injuries. Gordon is expected back in game 2. Magic are about to upset the Bucks in game 1 if they don't come back. Bucks have sucked in the restart. Magic are outplaying them.
I care almost as much about their results, as I do about ours. The Bucks flopping and Giannis having no help would be great. Best of all I feel all the competition for him is in the East (Milwaukee, Toronto, Miami), so the West at least won´t get better. Unless he goes to the Lakers, but then we go after angry Bron or AD.

Damn Vuc is murdering Lopez looking at the statline.

Magic aren't a good 3 pt shooting team, but they're making them today. Vuc has it stuck on automatic. That's why you can't overlook teams just because their record is bad. Respect everyone.
Cuban needs to activate all his buddies in the media, so they write articles 24/7 about Luka + Giannis teaming up. Stein needs to make it a weekly column in the NYT and then Cuban needs to buy Giannis a subscription.
Vuc's second playoff appearance is already better than his first one just with this game. A perfect example of the value of playoff experience

The Magic beat Toronto in game 1 last year too, so maybe this is a good sign for Milwaukee.

Magic won first one last season too. And it ended with that. But of course, Milwaukee screwing up might have huge implications.

I hope Dirk has Giannis´ number, just in case Giannis wins MVP and loses in the first round. Nobody can relate better in that situation and help recruit console him. Big Grin
I'm rooting hard for the Magic here, even though I kinda like the Bucks. However, the only possible chance of prying Giannis loose from them would be another early post-season exit.

Or...maybe not. Giannis seems to be a genuinely loyal guy, which the little "basketball romantic" in me, as we say in German, truly appreciates.

OKC down 16 to Houston at the half. Chris Paul with only a handful of shots.

Guess it must be super frustrating for Thunder fans to watch Westbrook rooting hard from the sideline.
Gotta say for Thundermav, the beginning of the game seemed like CP3 and Harden had a side bet on who could flop more. I think they called a truce when they saw that both their teammates were gonna foul out and it was gonna become a full court 1v1 game in the end and neither of them wanted to go that cardio route!
poor Lakers

Portland isn't a 8 seed. Lakers better find some shot makers quick, fast and in a hurry.
Damian Lillard is insane. The shots he hit in that 4th quarter actually made me squeal.
How awesome would it be if the Mavs beat the Clippers and the Blazers beat the Lakers!

The media would implode. No Kawhi and Lebron??? LA media buttlickers can't force Lebron GOAT narratives the entire playoffs??

It would be heaven for me.

Can you imagine what that would do to Lebrons legacy? After dominating the Leastern conference, manufactures his departure from yet another team for greener pastures and goes to Tinseltown with ESPN orgasming at the fact the Lakers are relevant again. Misses the playoffs entirely his first year and the first time he makes the west playoffs gets outed in the first round??? It would give so much credence that Lebron was only able to dominate the East because of how top heavy it was, basically giving him a first round bye every year.

Inject that reality into my veins please.
^ I think it is about time to start speculating who will replace Brett Brown next season

He can be to blame, but biggest damage was done by the FO. Coach is really not guilty that his first PG is an "end of the draft nobody". Milton is decent, gives way more than one should expect from this low pick, but still. Philly would need one good shooter and move Horford to bench to be a dangerous team - a lot of things would fall into place by just this one rotation move.

I think we can continue to speculate, what team movement will Philly do to improve. If I would be them, I would trade Horford and whatever else is needed for CP3. Who cares about picks if you are in win now mode. Things will fall apart if they don't succeed next season.

Honestly his FO shot him in the foot.

Ask anybody last year what the biggest needs for the 76ers was and they'd tell you shooting. Not only did they let JJ Reddick leave because they thought 13 mil a year was too much, but they decided to sign Al Horford with their space.  And not a single person thought it was a good signing at the time. In a league where everyone was going small, Philly chose a big guy who couldn't share the court with Embiid. AND on top of that they overpaid too, handing him 100 million. Double whammy was signing Tobias Harris , who at best is a 3rd option, to a ridiculous 180 million contract.

Add on top of it that that Ben Simmons is an enigma of a player. He does incredible things, but cannot shoot. He can defend with the best, but has lapses where he has no energy/care. He has an ego the size of the sun and wants all the fame with no critique. Furthermore, the playstyle that lets Simmons best shine is antithetical to the environment that lets Embiid shine.

Now if you're the coach and the FO has locked up 2 players to almost 300 million and didn't fix any of their previous problems and having to deal with the Simmons/Embiid playstyle mismatch (don't even get me started on Ben's shooting dilemma), no wonder why they've looked underwhelming.

Philly is definitely going to have to choose between Ben and Joel. If they're smart they'd capitalize now while both have the most value. If I was them I'd call the Suns and ask for Ben for Booker. If Philly did that before the bubble I'm sure the Suns would've said yes faster than a cheetah chasing its prey. After their 8-0 run, they'd be rightly hesitant.

He is the most overrated player in the league imho. I get that he is great defender, very good in fastbreak and can pass the ball. But without the shot, he is far from a complete player and only those are worth max contract. Would anyone ever consider maxing Smart or Covington?

Embiid on the other hand is often injured and often out of shape.

Moving Horford for a PG or SG will be the first move imho. They will also change coach. If there will still be no change, they will be moving one of the mentioned. Unless Embiid demands trade in the offseason.
What happened to the Philly "Process"? There's been a LOT of ugly basketball over several years for them to still look this bad.
Despite their solid roster, Indiana is being destroyed by Miami so far
